What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure backend services and APIs
  • Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate backend functionality into the UI.
  • Write clean, modular code with an emphasis on reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Participate in system design discussions, technical planning, and code reviews.
  • Implement automated tests
  • Monitor system health, diagnose issues, and proactively address performance bottlenecks.
  • Occasionally assist in frontend development using React or a similar framework.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in backend product engineering
  • Experience or ability to learn frontend i.e. React
  • Strong CS/algorithms fundamentals
  • You have seen systems operating at a significant technical and organizational scale
  • Strong product intuition:  you care about design and user experience and are quick to identify how these could be improved.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Comfortable at developing scalable and extendable core services used in many products
