About the role

We are seeking a Risk Strategy Manager to lead the development of credit risk strategies and capabilities across Rippling’s financial products. This pivotal role requires expertise in managing risks associated with money movement and lending as well as experience translating strategic objectives into system requirements. You will work closely with various teams, especially product management and engineering, to design and implement risk management solutions that enhance customer experience while safeguarding our financial integrity.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement credit risk capabilities to power new credit strategies and data science use cases to enhance controls.
  • Standardize risk capabilities across multiple products to provide consistent risk management tools to users.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate credit risk management tools and systems into Rippling infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of credit risk systems, identifying trends and opportunities to improve the controls or user experience.
  • Expand on automated decisioning tools for credit risk assessments to enhance efficiency and reduce potential financial losses.
  • Work with compliance and legal teams to ensure all credit risk decisions and communications meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in credit risk management.
  • Maintain a robust operational control environment to ensure compliance and minimize potential risks.

What you will need

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in developing technology products in the financial services sector, with an in-depth understanding of money movement, lending, and associated risks.
  • Expertise in project management and product management with a strong ability to curate and prioritize the roadmap to deliver high value at a fast pace.
  • Analytical skills and structured thinking to break complex problems down, analyze expected impacts, and measure results; SQL proficiency is required.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a track record of working effectively with product and engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python is a plus.
  • MBA or master's degree preferred, especially in a relevant field such as data analytics, engineering, or statistics.
  • Prior experience with risk decisioning platforms such as Datavisor, Taktile, or Oscilar.
  • Experience defining risk management strategies or data science predictive models.
  • Experience in underwriting or risk operations.

The pay range for this role is:

120,000 - 195,000 USD per year (US Tier 1)

115,000 - 175,000 USD per year (US Tier 2)

110,000 - 165,000 USD per year (US Tier 3)
