About the role

At Rippling, Engineering is at the heart of our business and culture. As a Engineering Manager on Global Payroll, you will be a part of a 0->1 team that ensures that we are able to launch countries at hyperspeed. You will work alongside the product management team and cross-functional teams (Product Engineer, Infra, Hub, Sales, etc) to develop robust, well-designed products. Your work will ensure that our 10000+ customers have a seamless payroll payment experience and increase Rippling’s total addressable market with every launch.


What you will do

  • Own Payroll for our largest non-US market in Germany and help unlock millions in revenue.

  • Balance your time between technical product planning, coding, hiring, and managing a growing team (~6-7 engineers).

  • Be hands-on in technical architecture and reviews

  • Navigate complex business rules, designing and implementing scalable backend systems to deliver tangible impact for our customers.

  • Leverage our existing platforms while also having an eye on future improvements.

What you will need

  • At least 8 years of experience in software development and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of software architectures; must have at least 1-2 years of experience as an Engineering Managers in leading small and mid-sized development teams

  • Outstanding customer-centric mindset, growth mindset, and a hunger for impact

  • Strong coding, design, and architectural skills - be a technical leader for the team

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
