About the role


This role will be based in our San Francisco, CA office and will require being in office 3x/week.


Since its redesign, the Rippling brand has become a huge asset and differentiator for the company. Now, with the respect and trust of stakeholders at all levels, we are responsible for stewarding the brand across every touchpoint on the web with craft and care.

We’re looking for a strategic, highly collaborative Art Director with in-house SaaS experience to help shape how our brand shows up in performance advertising. Reporting to the Creative Director, Campaigns, this role will partner deeply with our Growth and Demand Gen teams to drive business and design strategies that deliver ambitious growth targets while putting the user and our content at the heart of the experience.

What you will do

  • Work directly with Growth and Demand Gen teams to quickly iterate on performance campaigns spanning paid social, in-app ad surfaces, and direct mail.
  • Deliver diverse conceptual ideas that build on the Rippling brand identity through the lens of performance. Incorporate best practices to improve output over time.
  • Translate complex product concepts into easy to understand graphics ideal for the given channel.
  • Bring a perspective on copy and help stakeholders refine their copy to work best within a concept and placement.
  • Work independently and proactively, communicating regularly with stakeholders through updates and collaborative feedback sessions.
  • Source, oversee, and provide art direction to external illustrators, 3D designers, and specialist agencies as necessary.

What you will need

  • MUST HAVE 5+ years of experience in art direction with a focus on performance advertising
  • MUST HAVE in-house SaaS creative team experience
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to self-guide and project manage with minimal direction.
  • A demonstrated track record of delivering design solutions that outperform.
  • Ability to balance speed and quality while pushing creative boundaries to advance the brand.
  • Familiarity with and/or curiosity using AI creation tools 
  • Good communication skills and ability to embrace feedback and pivot accordingly.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe CS, Asana, JIRA, Google Workspace, Slack.
  • Motion experience is a huge plus.

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

The pay range for this role is:

90,000 - 157,500 USD per year (US Tier 1)
