About Ritual

Ritual is a personal health brand that is raising the bar for daily wellness. Known for our best-selling, clinically backed prenatal, we create science-backed supplements with transparency at their core. We believe women deserve products they can trust, backed by real evidence—not just promises.

We started by reinventing the multivitamin with the first visible supply chain of its kind. Today, we’re expanding into new categories with the same high standards that built our reputation. Hundreds of thousands trust Ritual, and we’re growing fast.

Our team of 120+ scientists, creatives, and skeptics is raising the bar for women’s health. We’re venture-backed, based in sunny Los Angeles, and always looking for people ready to challenge the industry—and do the best work of their careers.

About the role

Ritual is searching for a thoughtful, impact-driven Vice President, People to lead our people strategy, steward programs across the employee lifecycle, and nurture an inclusive culture rooted in our mission as we continue to evolve.

This role is ideal for a leader who thrives as a player-coach—someone who empowers a talented team to own their work while also stepping in to start, accelerate, or complete critical projects when needed. This is a build-from-scratch environment: you’ll inherit strong foundations and focus on operationalizing, refining, and evolving our people programs to meet the needs and aspirations of the business.

You’ll oversee an established team of four full-time team members spanning People Experience, Total Rewards, and Talent Acquisition, and serve as a trusted partner to our VP+ leadership group. In this role, you’ll build deep relationships across the organization to drive strategic workforce planning, optimize organizational design, and support leaders through change as we navigate a dynamic environment together.

What you'll do

  • People Strategy: Own the end-to-end People strategy, aligning core programs and practices to business priorities while continually improving our approach, delivery, and tooling to set our team members up for success.
  • Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP+ leadership team, informing organizational design, workforce planning, talent development, performance management, and leading through change.
  • People Experience & Culture: Drive operational excellence across the team member lifecycle to create an authentic, human-centered experience at every stage. Champion technology and automation to streamline processes and increase impact.
  • Total Rewards: Oversee our compensation and benefits strategy, ensuring programs are competitive, equitable, and sustainable as we scale.
  • Talent Development: Embed and evolve talent management and learning programs to grow capability at all levels, leveraging existing content and developing new solutions as needed to build for the future.
  • Talent Acquisition: Define and lead Ritual’s recruiting strategy to attract, hire, and onboard exceptional talent. Partner closely with our in-house recruiter, manage agency support when appropriate, and directly support senior-level searches as needed.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: Oversee HR compliance and employment law matters, advising on policy development, risk mitigation, and fair, consistent practices across the business. Serve as the primary point of contact for sensitive employee relations issues, including leading investigations from intake to resolution when required.
  • Culture Leadership: Be a visible cultural ambassador for our remote-first team, modeling Ritual’s values and creating an environment where people feel included, inspired, and empowered to do their best work.

Who you are

  • Curious, resilient, and pragmatic, with a clear understanding of how strong people practices enable a mission-driven, results-focused company.
  • Highly credible and approachable, with a proven ability to build trust and influence across all levels in a remote-first organization.
  • An inspiring people leader —the go-to partner for guidance and perspective, known for developing and motivating others.
  • A strategist and an executor with high standards of excellence and attention to detail.
  • Deeply committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as essential pillars of a high-performing culture.

What you'll need

  • 10+ years of progressive HR and People leadership experience in scaling organizations, including direct partnership with senior leaders and managing People teams.
  • Deep expertise in Total Rewards strategy, design, and execution, with a strong track record of building equitable, competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Solid command of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations, supporting a diverse workforce of U.S.-based employees as well as international contractors and partners.
  • A passion for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, with a clear understanding of how to embed and operationalize inclusive practices across the employee lifecycle—from sourcing and onboarding, to career progression, leadership development, and performance management.
  • Strong foundations in talent acquisition and employer branding, with experience designing and executing effective recruiting strategies.
  • Comfort operating, communicating, and building relationships in a remote-first environment.
  • Enthusiasm for adopting new technologies and automation tools to free teams from manual tasks and enable human-centered work.
