About the role

The Control Room Supervisor ensures optimal performance, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations across RNWBL’s renewable energy fleet, including wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This customer-facing role serves as an escalation point for issues, acts as the backup CIP Senior Manager for both Generator Owner (GO) and Generator Operator (GOP) functions (including subcontracted GO services) and supervises the Control Room Operators. The supervisor will drive continuous improvement in operations and compliance. Travel may be required to RNWBL offices, power plants, and customer locations. 

 

Leadership and Team Management 

  • Oversee the Control Room team, making recommendations for hiring, firing, scheduling, and performance management. 
  • Mentor and guide the Control Room Operators to promote cross-team collaboration and alignment with contractual obligations. 

Operational Oversight and Continuous Improvement 

  • Develop, maintain, and train staff on operational standards, procedures, policies, and best practices for operations. 
  • Coordinate with Asset Management, Plant Owners, and stakeholders to ensure optimal plant operations, including continuous improvement in operator logging, work order management, credential management, and scheduling. 
  • Assist in plant onboarding into the ROCC, ensuring seamless service delivery, compliance verification, and maintenance of plant information, documentation, and distribution to operational personnel. 
  • Assist in the development of excellence efforts across Performance Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and Asset Management. 
  • Act as a customer escalation point for issues, maintaining relationships and forwarding ad-hoc data requests. 

Compliance Management 

  • Serve as backup for the CIP Senior Manager, assisting in monthly compliance assessments, interfacing with third-party compliance vendors, and ensuring day-to-day adherence to NERC CIP requirements. 
  • Track compliance capabilities during plant onboarding, track GO/GOP responsibilities, and coordinate with field personnel for execution. 
  • Respond and coordinate in real-time to ongoing events to ensure compliance.

 

Financial and Vendor Management 

  • Oversee third-party services for field escalation support, ensuring costs remain controlled as the fleet grows. 
  • Coordinate with third-party security vendors for network implementation. 

Strategic Planning 

  • Coordinate the acquisition of technology enabling ROCC services. 
  • Develop KPIs and SOPs for ROCC.
