Job Summary:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) partners with the organization to develop and deliver the people strategy that supports the functional business objectives of RoadRunner and reinforces the RR culture. This includes reinforcing RR’s mission, values, and performance expectations to drive high performance and continually raise the bar resulting in the engagement and retention of RR’s talent and the reduction of non-regrettable turnover.


Primary Duties Including % of time:

  • 60% - Guides managers and employees on employee relations and performance management issues. Ensures proper documentation and coaching, provides ways to increase performance, and address poor performance in a timely manner using corrective action and improvement plans as needed. Mitigates risks by ensuring legal compliance. Ensures managers and employees are well versed to address and resolve conflict, self-manage through difficult situations, and take ownership of their development.
  • 20% - Gains an in depth understanding of the business and how RR creates value for our customers then uses that to partner with managers on matters related to organizational design, succession planning, skill development, and engagement reinforces RR’s culture, core values, and drives high performance, employee engagement and retention.
  • 10% - Supports change management initiatives and leads HR work streams on key projects. Keeps pace with progressive HR practices and implements them to increase value across RR.
  • 10% - Identifies and manages key metrics and analytics to support decisions driving the people agenda for the business.


Travel required: Limited, less than 10%

  • Reports To: Director of Talent Performance

  • Interacts with: HR team, candidates, vendors, managers, employees, and Leadership Team members


Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources. 
  • Proven experience handling employee relations including PIP creation and management, Corrective Action, and resolution of employee differences.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement progressive policies, practices, and program resulting in the engagement and retention of top talent.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, ability to act without having the whole picture using sound judgment and strong decision-making skills.
  • Passionate about business results and quality, with a strong sense of accountability, metrics and ownership.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to grasp the tactical details.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, is dynamic, and can capture a group’s interest and maintain it as well as the ability to facilitate meetings with diverse and sometimes conflicting points of view.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, multi-task and effectively prioritize conflicting assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels and across all functions of the organization.
  • Proven ability to organize/manage multiple priorities coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving. Solid decision making in a timely manner.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s degree preferred
  • HR certification highly desired

The pay range for this role is:

85,000 - 95,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
