POSITION OVERVIEW
Sales Development Representatives must think strategically, apply effective sales techniques, and leverage strong interpersonal skills to generate new business opportunities. This prospecting role focuses on engaging new prospects and expanding our reach within existing accounts through high-volume calls, emails, and social outreach. You’ll be responsible for qualifying leads and scheduling meetings for Sales by identifying decision-makers and uncovering business needs. Ideal for an ambitious professional interested in the software industry, who excels at building relationships and making a strong first impression.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively conduct outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, and social outreach to generate new business opportunities for AEs.
- Effectively communicate the company's value proposition and product offerings to potential customers.
- Qualify leads based on predefined criteria to ensure they align with ideal customer profiles.
- Log all activities in CRM/sales engagement software to track outreach efforts and maintain data integrity.
- Meet and exceed activity targets, including call volume, emails sent, and conversion rates.
- Research target accounts to identify key decision-makers and uncover potential pain points.
- Maintain and grow a pipeline of high-quality prospects within an assigned territory.
- Collaborate with AEs to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified opportunities.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitive offerings to enhance prospecting efforts.
- Gather insights on prospects' businesses to tailor messaging and engagement strategies.
- Develop relationships with potential customers and internal stakeholders to improve sales success.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant experience of 1-2 years in a similar role
- Demonstrated comfort in the art of cold-calling and relationship-building
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Possess positive, problem-solving mindset
- Track record of over-achieving quota
- Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
- Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
- Previous experience using sales engagement software (e.g., Outreach) is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening and presentation skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business or related field
- Waste and Recycling industry experience (preferred)
