POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Onboarding Specialist, you will play a key role in guiding new customers through the successful adoption and integration of Routeware solutions. This includes managing onboarding activities, supporting data integration, overseeing API setup, and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation. You will initially focus on our SmartCity software and will be expected to grow into a subject matter expert across our suite of solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a customer-facing role requiring regular interaction, coordination, and communication with new clients. You will serve as a key partner during the onboarding process, ensuring technical readiness and a successful integration with customer systems.
- Lead the onboarding process for new clients, from kickoff through go-live.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding-related communication and coordination.
- Guide clients through system setup, data requirements, and onboarding milestones.
- Oversee and support integration efforts, including API configurations and data exchanges between customer systems and Routeware platforms.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proper authentication, mapping, and testing of API endpoints.
- Perform basic troubleshooting during integration setup and escalate issues as needed.
- Work closely with Sales, Implementation, and Customer Support to ensure a seamless transition post-onboarding.
- Document onboarding processes, configurations, and integration requirements for each customer.
- Identify and communicate best practices for onboarding and integration to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with data gathering, cleansing, and validation to ensure accuracy and quality in optimization models.
- Present onboarding status updates, risks, and recommendations to internal teams and customers.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives for onboarding efficiency and customer experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in customer onboarding, implementation, or technical account management roles.
- Experience with API setup and integration workflows, including familiarity with authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, etc.).
- Strong data skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data validation techniques.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple onboarding projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to removing barriers and driving progress.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and coordinating both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
