POSITION OVERVIEWPOSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking to add a skilled senior revenue accountant to the finance team, to support both organic growth and growth through acquisition.  This Accountant is a hands-on process owner for revenue accounting including the global month-end close process, customer contract reviews, commission cost accounting and inventory accounting. This role will also support our professional services team for project-based accounting.  The role is to be a strong partner with our revenue operations, customer operations and billing/accounts receivable teams that will drive system and process change.   This role will be a critical partner with system implementations and improvements, policy and procedure definition as well as risk mitigation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Routeware’s contracting and revenue process.  The primary function of this role will be to review customer agreements to determine the correct revenue treatment under the guidance of ASC 606 and ensure the agreements satisfy the Company’s policies for bookings and revenue.
  • Process and update Sage Intacct and SalesForce.com objects including but not limited to revenue plans, opportunity data, and contract data.
  • Manage revenue accounting balance sheet accounts including but not limited to Contract Assets, Deferred Revenue, Inventory and Deferred COGS.
  • Update and maintain our Revenue subledger to Contract ARR reconciliation.
  • Ensure accuracy in our reporting and process for monthly COGS activity.
  • Drive process improvements in our quote to cash activities within Salesforce.com and Sage Intacct.
  • Conduct period-over-period flux analysis of all revenue accounting activity.
  • Support external audit requests related to revenue testing including revenue and deferred revenue accounts.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests
  • Assist in special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of Revenue Accounting Experience specifically for SAAS, Software, Professional Services, Hardware, and other multi-element agreement structures.
  • Advance MS Office skills – particularly Excel
  • Clear written and oral communication skills via multiple platforms and tools (Slack, Zoom, etc).
  • Working knowledge of the Sage Intacct, Salesforce and CPQ
  • A continuous process improvement mindset
  • Proven track record of problem solving, taking ownership and being bold in approaching challenges.
  • Proven track record of working cross functionally and collaboratively with customers, vendors and other internal departments.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a minor in business, accounting, or finance with relevant experience.
  • CPA or public accounting experience a plus

The pay range for this role is:

70,000 - 90,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
