POSITION: Family Ministry Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: West Side Kids

Reports to: Sr. Dir. Family Ministry

Date: March 2026

Salary: $70,000 - $72,000/year

Working Hours: FT, including Sundays


Position Summary

The West Side Family Ministry Manager supports the ministries of West Side Kids and West Side Family by overseeing the systems and logistics that make Sunday programming, midweek gatherings, and special events run with excellence and care. This role manages communications, database systems, media/technology, volunteer management, and the execution of family-wide initiatives. In close partnership with the family ministry teams, the Manager helps cultivate environments where children grow in their knowledge and love of Christ and where families feel supported, shepherded, and rooted in Christ-centered discipleship.


Job Description

Database Management

  • Identify and execute new ways to optimize the family database
  • Manage database tools and services to streamline the check-in process, registrations and improve record-keeping of families and children
  • Train users to effectively operate the database system

Communications

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual communications plan and work with West Side and partners to optimize communication across all channels
  • Draft and edit clear, engaging communications (emails, promotions, updates)
  • Create promotional materials for events and ministry initiatives (print, digital, social)
  • Respond promptly and pastorally to ministry inquiries
  • Identify creative opportunities to advance the mission and visibility of West Side Kids and Family

General Office Administration

  • Coordinate administrative tasks such as making signs, nametags, labels, sign-in sheets, etc for each ministry area and manage room bookings and layouts for events and programming
  • Identify administrative bottlenecks or problems and develop workable solutions
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to optimize coordination between W83 and West Side Kids staff and be the main point of contact for W83 staff during events

Technology and Media Management

  • Manage technology setup and utilization
  • Work alongside IT for regular technology maintenance
  • Work alongside West Side Family Staff to film and produce educational content

Volunteer Managing

  • Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers to ensure fully staffed classrooms
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and background checks
  • Support volunteer training and foster a culture of shared ownership

Family Ministry

  • Contribute to strategic planning and support cross-ministry collaboration (Youth, Family Events, Parent Seminars, etc.) to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, systems, and execution.
  • Model a heart for shepherding families by upholding a posture of hospitality, responsiveness, and care in all operational processes.
  • Model flexibility and a team-centered posture by stepping into teaching or leadership roles as needed, helping maintain steady care and Christ-centered discipleship across the ministry.


Job Qualifications

  • Active engagement in the Redeemer community and passion for the vision of Redeemer and West Side Kids
  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience in ministry operations, nonprofit administration, education, or a related field preferred
  • 3-5 years in an administrative role with 1-2 years in a supervisory role
  • Proficiency with database systems, digital communication tools, and basic media/technology platforms
  • Strong organizational and systems-thinking skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in planning and executing event logistics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for communicating effectively with parents and staff
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers
  • High level of initiative, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Ability to build relationships and trust across a broad set of staff and volunteers
  • Flexibility to work most Sundays, and some evenings and weekend events as needed
  • Relational maturity marked by professionalism, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative spirit
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, urban ministry context


Skills

Proficient in Google Workspace, Adobe, Canva, Planning software, Database, etc.
