Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection, Cleaning & Preparation: Cleaning, filtering, and organizing raw data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness for analysis.
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: Using statistical tools and analytical techniques to interpret complex datasets, focusing on trends, patterns, and correlations that could be valuable for business objectives.
- Reporting & Visualization: Creating visually appealing and interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations using data visualization tools to communicate key findings and actionable insights to management and cross-functional teams.
- Process Improvement: Collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements, system modifications, and the development of policies for data governance and efficiency.
- KPI Tracking: Partnering with business units to define, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success of initiatives and business performance.
- Fact-Checking and Validation: Reviewing and fact-checking work from other data professionals (analysts, engineers, data scientists) to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to best practices, company policy, and relevant law.
- Troubleshooting Expertise: Serving as the "go-to" person for resolving complex, project-related problems that fall within their area of expertise, using their extensive knowledge to overcome unforeseen obstacles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Database Languages: Strong proficiency in SQL for extracting and manipulating data.
- Programming Languages: Experience with programming languages such as Python for statistical analysis, automation of data processes and predictive modeling. Machine learning is a plus.
- Data Visualization Tools: Proficiency with data visualization and building Power BI datasets, measures (DAX) to create reports and dashboards.
- Spreadsheet Software: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Statistical Knowledge: A strong understanding of statistical methodologies and techniques for data interpretation and predictive modeling.
Soft Skills
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and pay meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness is essential for maintaining data integrity and accuracy in large datasets.
Education & Experience
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline is typically required.
- Experience: Relevant work experience as a data analyst or in a related field for 5 years or more.
