About the role

The Senior Product Manager for the Collect product group at RudderStack will manage three primary products as a group: SDKs, Transformations, and Data Governance. This role involves building deep relationships with customers to understand their problems, owning the roadmap and execution of the product group as a whole, with the goal of creating a streamlined data collection, transformation, and governance experience for behavioral event data. The product experience should be crafted to serve the ultimate user goal of collecting high quality behavioral data, which builds trust with their internal stakeholders downstream. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in client and server-side SDKs, real-time data transformation, and event-based data governance and quality. Additionally, it is critical that these products are built with the entire RudderStack platform in mind, with an emphasis on creatively integrating these early stage functions (like SDKs and Data Governance) can streamline or automate downstream workflows in downstream products (like Profiles and Reverse ETL).


RudderStack is a remote company, though we do have one office in the eastern US. This role needs to be in EST, but can be a remote role. If there is a desire to relocate to the East Coast Office, we will cover expenses.


What you'll do

  • Own the roadmap and execution for the Collect product group, including SDKs, Transformations, and Data Governance.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to build a seamless, integrated data collection experience.
  • Think creatively about how to more deeply integrate the Collect product group with other parts of the RudderStack platform.
  • Engage with customers to understand both their ultimate goals for collecting behavioral data as well as their specific needs and challenges related to SDKs and governing event data in real-time pipelines.
  • Lead the Collect product innovation, strategy, and execution to enhance the customer data platform experience.
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams across time zones to deliver high-quality products.
  • Own the enablement and launch inputs for every feature you ship (and the roadmap as a whole) in support of and in partnership with Product Marketing.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of directly applicable product management experience at either a B2B SaaS startup company or as the owner of an internal build. This specifically includes experience with client and server-side SDKs as well as data governance tools for event data.
  • Experience owning a roadmap across multiple related products.
  • Experience working with teams across time zones, especially engineering teams, and shipping work using agile methodologies.
  • Deep technical knowledge, including the ability to understand and troubleshoot the product and have technical conversations with Engineering Managers.
  • Experience managing products and people at a successful startup company (Series C+).
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, specifically with regard to enablement and product launch materials.
  • Excellent customer-facing and research skills.
