Business Development Manager

About the Role

We are on the hunt for a skilled Business Development Manager with solid experience in software solutions sales, ideally safety solutions.  In this key role, you will drive the sales process from start to finish, strategically pivoting your solution sales strategy to meet the needs of both SME and enterprise level customers.  You'll identify potential clients, develop relationships, demonstrate our solutions, and negotiate contracts. Your goal will be to expand our customer base and help clients achieve their safety objectives with our software.     

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement innovative business strategies to enhance market penetration and increase sales opportunities, identifying and targeting new markets with potential for significant growth.
  • Drive lead generation and pipeline development through employing market analysis, cold calling, networking and digital outreach to not only generate new leads but also build and maintain a robust sales pipeline for sustained business growth.
  • Lead full-cycle sales, from initial lead generation through to deal closure to meet sales revenue targets, including crafting compelling proposals and presentations that articulate the unique value of our solutions.
  • Applying a strategic approach to the sales process, tailoring as need to meet the diverse needs of both SMEs and large enterprise customers.
  • Conduct compelling product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers, clearly articulating the features and benefits of the software to drive engagement and facilitate decision-making processes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, working to understand their business needs and explore opportunities for further expansion and deeper integration of company offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including ensuring a seamless integration and transition to customer success for new clients and relaying client feedback to our product development team to aid in continuous enhancement of our offerings.
  • Continuously monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust business development strategies, providing feedback to the product and marketing teams to help refine product offerings and marketing strategies.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking meetings when required, enhancing brand visibility and generating business leads.


What We're Looking For

  • You have a proven successful track record in B2B software solution sales and a thorough grasp of sales strategy and methodologies.
  • You are adept at managing the full sales cycle and can effectively grow a sales pipeline using innovative strategies.
  • Your communication skills are top-notch, facilitating seamless negotiations and client interactions.
  • You are skilled in engaging with both SMEs and enterprise-level clients, understanding the different strategies required to approach and close sales in different environments.
  • You are driven and results orientated, a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth start-up to scale-up environment.
  • You have experience working with CRM software and sales tools (HubSpot preferred).
  • You are a strong team player who can work both independently and part of a team.
  • Exposure and/or experience with safety solutions and processes will be very highly regarded.
