Technical Product Manager - Enterprise Software

Safire is seeking a Technical Product Manager to own a software product end-to-end. This role combines product leadership, project execution, and system architecture. The PM will be accountable for ensuring the product solves the right problems, maintains architectural coherence, and ships effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap, priorities, requirements, milestones, dependencies, and releases.
  • Translate business needs into clear engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering and stakeholders and drive ambiguous issues to decisions.
  • Maintain a working understanding of the complete product architecture.
  • Guide system boundaries, components, APIs, integrations, data flows, and infrastructure.
  • Partner directly with engineers on architectural decisions and technical tradeoffs.
  • Balance speed, quality, technical debt, scalability, security, and future flexibility.
  • Own outcomes—not simply process, tickets, or schedules.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in product management, software engineering, technical program management, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex software products from requirements through deployment.
  • Strong software architecture and systems-thinking capability.
  • Exceptional judgment under ambiguity and incomplete information.
  • Ability to work directly and credibly with software engineers.

Nice to Have

  • Graduate technical degree or MBA.
  • Prior software engineering experience.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, APIs, AI/ML, or data platforms.
  • Startup or zero-to-one product experience.

Safire engineers the hardware and software inside the world's most demanding energy systems: batteries built to survive conditions that destroy ordinary equipment, sensors that catch what others miss, and an AI-powered operating system that turns raw data into real-time intelligence operators can act on immediately.

Power that fails doesn't get a second attempt. Vehicles, grids, and mission-critical systems all run on infrastructure that has to work exactly once, exactly right. That's the moment we build for.

The pay range for this role is:

160,000 - 210,000 USD per year (Los Ángeles, CA)

Research & Development (RD)

Culver City, CA
