Sales Operations Manager

SAGA Diagnostics is a personalized cancer diagnostics and disease monitoring company focused on molecular genetic analysis of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). The company’s mission is to improve precision cancer medicine, provide more accurate treatment monitoring, and improve patient survival using minimally-invasive liquid biopsy cancer testing services. As the first dedicated Sales Operations hire for our early-stage Minimally Residual Disease (MRD) diagnostics portfolio, you will build the foundational infrastructure for our commercial engine. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights and designing scalable processes that empower our sales team to accelerate clinical adoption.

Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Performance Management

  • Metric Development: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to the MRD market, including physician targeting efficiency, test pull-through rates, and payer mix trends.
  • Salesforce Architecture: Partner closely with clinical operations and the software team to ensure thoughtful setup, configuration, rollout, and impact is achieved across sales and MSL teams. Serving as an administrator for Salesforce, build and maintain custom objects, flows, and validation rules to ensure data integrity.
  • Dashboards & Reporting: Design and manage automated executive dashboards and field-facing reports to provide real-time visibility into the sales pipeline and revenue forecasts fueling sales, MSL’s, and leadership insights. Conduct data analysis proactively and ad hoc to support the evolving nature of the growing portfolio.

Process Optimization & Scaling

  • Sales Workflow Design: Standardize the "lead-to-order" process, ensuring seamless coordination between field sales, clinical laboratory operations, and market access teams.
  • Salesforce Optimization: Streamline CRM workflows to reduce administrative burden on Account Executives, allowing more time for clinical selling.
  • Scalability: Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for territory management, lead distribution, and customer onboarding as the organization expands.

Strategy & Sales Effectiveness

  • Territory Mapping: Utilize diagnostic market data (e.g., claims data, ICD-10 codes) to optimize sales territories and identify high-volume clinical targets.
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with Marketing to ensure the sales team has the right tools and data-driven insights to communicate the clinical value of MRD testing.
  • Incentive Compensation: Assist leadership in designing and tracking sales commission plans that align with corporate growth objectives.


Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or Education (Master’s degree a plus).
  • Experience: 5+ years in Sales Operations, with at least 2 years in the molecular diagnostics, genomics, or oncology space. Experience in an early-stage/startup environment is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Salesforce (Admin Certification preferred) and expert-level Excel skills. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the oncology clinical landscape and the nuances of MRD testing/reimbursement.
  • Execution: Proven ability to work as a "department of one," moving from high-level strategy to hands-on technical execution.
