About the role

We are looking for Firmware Engineers with Data Center Networking experience for our future AI accelerators. The Network SW Engineer would write the required SW to connect our HW to Ethernet (800G/1600G SERDES) and eventually to optical.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement Network Drivers (and/or Firmware) to perform low-level programming of the hardware needed for ethernet adapter functions on the AI accelerator boards. This also includes the transport stack for RDMA and control functions with the host/accelerator
  • Design and implement Platform services such as programming, monitoring, and controlling system components such as optics, PHY, sensors, fan control, power, etc. 
  • Implement software for the boot and operational modes for the networking adapters that are controlled by an RTOS corresponding to Levels 2-4 of the OSI model  

Requirements
  • B.S, M.S or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of direct experience with networking software and device drivers 
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Ethernet/InfiniBand, OSI Model (layers 1-4), TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Ethernet
    • Transport Stack particularly RDMA (RcCEv2) and Google Falcon
    • Serdes, Optical Hardware
  • High proficiency in C/C++ coding

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of direct experience with networking software and device drivers
  • Familiar with operating system kernels, especially drivers and network stack, from either embedded RTOS or Linux/Windows
  • Familiarity with datacenter server computing and the following standards bodies: Open Compute Project (OCP), Trusted Computer Group (TCG), Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF)
  • Platform services (program, control, and monitor Optics, PHY, FPGAs, sensors, fan control, power etc), BSP/Board Support Package, Operating Systems, Kernel, Bootloader, Power Management, RTOS, Linux.
  • Experience with QEMU, FPGA Emulation environment 
  • Understanding of parallel programming concepts or programming in CUDA/OPENCL/RoCM

The pay range for this role is:

150,000 - 250,000 USD per year (SAPEON HQ)
