Position Overview
The ServiceNow Developer will support the implementation, customization, and ongoing enhancement of the ServiceNow platform. This role serves as a technical advisor to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring ServiceNow solutions align with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and organizational objectives. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting ServiceNow applications while ensuring system stability, scalability, and usability.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Hybrid Work Schedule: Mainly Remote
- May be required to go onsite (Arlington, VA) periodically
- Must have programming language experience in Java, Python, or C++
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, customize, and maintain the ServiceNow platform, including workflows, business rules, UI policies, and automation scripts.
- Design and develop ServiceNow application solutions based on conceptual and functional requirements.
- Provide ServiceNow platform development, administration, documentation, and technical support.
- Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Support migration of existing on-premise or web-based solutions to the ServiceNow platform.
- Develop user-friendly custom web forms, workflows, and interfaces within ServiceNow.
- Create test plans, perform unit, system, and integration testing, and support deployment activities.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root cause analysis for ServiceNow issues.
- Communicate ServiceNow capabilities, processes, and operational impacts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for ServiceNow utilization, enhancements, and best practices.
Technical Experience & Knowledge
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing, implementing, administering, and configuring ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow modules, including:
- Incident Management
- Change Management
- Problem Management
- Service Desk
- Asset Management
- Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- Knowledge Management
- Service Request Management
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and web services (REST/SOAP).
- Experience with database design, development, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT Service Management best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git).
