Role Overview

Scentbird is seeking a Senior Manager of Forecasting & Demand Planning to lead the development and execution of the company’s demand planning strategy. This role will lead the end-to-end demand forecasting process, ensuring accurate forecasts across subscription and wholesale demand, product launches, promotions, and replenishment cycles, while managing forecasting across a complex product portfolio spanning thousands of SKUs and multiple demand channels including subscription, direct-to-consumer, and wholesale.

The Senior Manager will play a critical role in driving forecast accuracy, improving inventory turns, reducing excess and obsolete inventory, and supporting revenue growth. This individual will partner closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Business Development, Marketing, New Product Development and Operations to align demand signals with supply planning and business objectives.

This position requires a data-driven leader who can combine analytics, systems expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to scale forecasting processes for a fast-growing subscription business.


Key Responsibilities


Demand Forecasting & Planning

  • Own the monthly demand planning process across all product categories, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, inventory strategy, and business planning.
  • Manage forecasting across a high-SKU portfolio and multiple demand channels—including subscription, direct-to-consumer, and wholesale—accounting for channel-specific demand drivers, product lifecycles, and promotional impacts.
  • Develop and maintain statistical forecasting models leveraging historical sales, subscription trends, promotions, seasonality, and marketing signals.
  • Improve and monitor forecast accuracy (MAPE, bias, WAPE) and identify root causes of forecast variance.
  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) demand review process and present forecasts to executive stakeholders.
  • Establish forecasting strategies for new product launches, limited drops, and promotional events.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between Business Development, Marketing, New Product Development, Finance, and Supply Chain to gather demand inputs.
  • Incorporate marketing campaigns, subscriber growth projections and product lifecycle plans into demand forecasts.
  • Influence stakeholders to ensure alignment between business initiatives and demand planning assumptions.


Inventory & Financial Impact

  • Partner with Supply Planning to ensure forecasts support inventory optimization, service levels, and working capital targets.
  • Deliver demand forecasts that support revenue planning, inventory investment decisions, and working capital optimization across the business.
  • Drive initiatives that improve inventory turns, reduce DIO, and minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Translate demand forecasts into inventory requirements and revenue projections.
  • Work closely with Finance to align forecasts with revenue planning and financial targets.


Systems, Tools & Process Improvement

  • Lead forecasting capabilities within planning systems such as Netstock and ERP platforms.
  • Implement data-driven forecasting automation and machine learning models where appropriate.
  • Improve forecasting workflows and reporting to enable scalable planning processes as the business grows.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to track forecasting performance and planning effectiveness.


Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing demand planning team.
  • Establish best practices in forecast methodology, analytics, and planning cadence.
  • Coach team members on forecasting techniques, scenario planning, and data-driven decision making.


Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics
  • Experience leading or managing planning teams
  • Experience leading cross functional S&OP
  • Strong expertise in forecast modeling, statistical analysis, and demand planning methodologies
  • Experience with planning systems (Netstock, SAP IBP, Anaplan, o9, Kinaxis, or similar)
  • Experience forecasting and planning across large SKU assortments and multi-channel demand environments (e.g., subscription, DTC, wholesale, retail).
  • Advanced analytical skills in Excel, SQL, or BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Proven ability to translate forecasts into business and financial impact
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience in subscription, eCommerce, consumer goods, or beauty/fragrance industries
  • Experience forecasting new product launches and promotional demand
  • Familiarity with inventory optimization and supply planning concepts
  • Background implementing forecast automation or machine learning models
  • MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Analytics, or Business

  • Improve overall forecast accuracy and reduce forecast bias
  • Reduce excess and obsolete inventory
  • Improve inventory turns and working capital efficiency
  • Build scalable demand planning processes to support company growth
  • Deliver improved alignment between demand forecasts, supply planning, and financial plans
