Schedule: Monday-Friday 1:00 PM- 9:00 PM

About the role
The Screening Plant Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of the screening plant machinery and equipment. This role involves managing a team of mechanics, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and meets production standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical maintenance within a plant environment, along with strong leadership and organizational skills.
What you'll do
- Maintenance and Repair
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of screening plant machinery and equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated components.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct safety inspections and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Inventory and Parts Management
- Manage inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Order parts and supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely availability.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and parts usage.
Documentation and Reporting
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Prepare and present reports on maintenance issues, equipment status, and improvements to management.
- Assist in budgeting and cost management for maintenance activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining screening plant mechanical maintenance.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with screening plant equipment and related machinery.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
- Capability to perform tasks that require climbing, bending, and kneeling.
