Scope3 is a fully remote company and largely asynchronous to provide flexible working hours and to operate globally, with concentrations in New York and Europe. At this time, we are hiring in Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, and the United States.

About the Role

We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join our finance team and be a key partner in maintaining world‑class accounting operations as we scale. Reporting to our Senior Accountant, you’ll own core day‑to‑day accounting activities— running our end‑to‑end billing workflow in our billing platform, AP processing, AR management, while gaining exposure to broader month‑end close and revenue processes typical of a fast‑growing company.

What You’ll Do

• Billing Operations: Operate and maintain our billing platform, generate recurring and usage‑based invoices, communicate with customers on billing inquiries, and track collections.
• Accounts Payable (AP): Review and process vendor bills, ensure proper coding/approvals, and manage payment runs.
  
  
• Accounts Receivable (AR): Monitor customer balances, perform invoice aging reviews, and reconcile cash receipts.
  
  
• Revenue Reconciliations: Collaborate with the Senior Accountant to reconcile billing system data to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Brex, ensuring accuracy of deferred, accrued and recognized revenue.
  
  
• Bank & Payroll Reconciliations: Prepare monthly bank recs in QBO and reconcile payroll data from Rippling.
  
  
• Process Improvement: Document and refine accounting workflows; help implement controls as we scale.
  
  
• Cross‑Functional Support: Partner with Finance, RevOps, and Customer Success on ad‑hoc analyses and reporting.
  
  
• Growth Opportunities: Take on increasingly complex close tasks (journal entries, accruals, flux analysis) and support audit readiness as you develop.

What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate/tech environment.
  
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or CPA a plus).
  
  
• Hands‑on familiarity with QuickBooks Online (or similar ERP) and billing software
  
  
• Solid grasp of GAAP basics and internal control environments —revenue recognition, AP/AR cycles, bank recs.
  
  
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a fully remote, asynchronous setting; comfortable prioritizing deadlines across time zones.
  
  
• Meticulous attention to detail and a bias for process optimization.
  
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; clear, concise, and proactive.
  
  
• Passion for climate‑focused or mission‑driven work is highly desirable.
