About the role
Revenue
Ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 Standards in revenue recognition process.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for management review.
Perform reconciliations for revenue accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain an understanding of products and services (new and existing) and their impact on revenue and ASC 606.
Work closely with sales, operations, and other departments to gather relevant data and provide support for revenue-related activities.
General Ledger Management
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Review and maintain proper supporting documentation for various balance sheet accounts.
Work closely with the controller and other staff members to promptly resolve discrepancies.
Compliance and Audit
Assist in external audit providing necessary documentation and explanations for revenue transactions.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of revenue processes, policies, and transactions.
Process Improvement
Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance department and organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and streamline financial processes.
Financial Reporting
Assist in the preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete, and in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Prepare and analyze various financial reports and present findings to senior management.
Team & Communication
Partner with key business stakeholders to improve revenue and billing-related practices, communicating in a professional manner technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Actively engage with other team members within the accounting & finance department.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both oral and written, at all levels within an organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is strongly desired.
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting (GAAP/IFRS).
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (NetSuite experience huge plus!)
Experience working for a “Big 4,” or mid-market / mid-tier public accounting firm is preferred but not required.
Experience in the software or software-as-a-service industry preferred.
CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred.
