JOB TITLE: Senior Member Consultant

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Member Consultant will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and is dedicated to achieving credit union goals and objectives. Comprehensive knowledge of all Credit Union products and services is required, along with a demonstrated commitment to providing beneficial solutions to members. Experience leading projects and/or people while adapting to everyday situations and providing recommendations or solutions to resolve known and perceived problems or issues. This is an exciting opportunity to bring forth new ideas and see those ideas come to life!


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Must be proficient in all Member Representative and Member Consultant job functions, duties and responsibilities; will regularly back up these responsibilities as needed.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all credit union products, services, policies, procedures and channels, including digital banking.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), business types, trusts, estates and applicable special account types.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and understanding of all engagement channels to effectively support member inquiries received either in-person or via phone call, text, chat or email.
  • Interviews members regarding their financial wellness and identifies beneficial products, services, and solutions for their needs.
  • Provides financial guidance aimed at educating members on tactics to achieve their financial goals.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor to others throughout the credit union while promoting cooperation, collaboration and interdependence amongst branches and departments.
  • Independently manages new/complex situations and delivers valuable solutions.
  • Demonstrates decisiveness, integrity, flexibility, and critical thinking that advances team, department, and organizational success.
  • Regularly provides valuable input and critical thinking/analysis to mitigate potential risks.
  • Aligns with key stakeholders prior to implementation of work.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the community.
  • Participates in or leads group team building strategies.
  • Builds relationships and networks, internally and externally.
  • Represents the credit union at community events and networking functions.
  • Obtains NMLS and applicable certifications or licenses, if applicable.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to SCU Values.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of college or equivalent training/experience.
  • Two (2)+ years of experience in retail banking or credit union.
  • Proven track record with financial sales products.
  • Demonstrates excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the state and federal regulations such as Reg. B, Reg. E, Reg. D, Reg. CC, Reg. Z, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Progressive thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • This position requires the ability to work at any assigned credit union branch location.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply credit union policy, procedure and protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in business or related field.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Proficiency in leading or coaching fellow employees.
  • Formally trained in equity and inclusion, or equivalent experience.
  • Additional financial institution experience.



Working Conditions:

  • This is an in-branch role in the Greater Seattle area of Washington State. We serve members all days of the week except Sunday and limited hours on Saturday.
  • Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
  • The nature of work may include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The pay range for this role is:

22 - 32 USD per hour (US SCU Above National)
