JOB TITLE: Senior Credit Analyst
Department: Member Business Lending
FLSA Status: Exempt
ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Credit Analyst will underwrite prospective commercial loans, complete construction draw requests, and be integral to the completion of the Annual Term Loan Review process. You will work directly with our Member Business Loan Officers and the Credit Administration team to help ensure that the members of Seattle Credit Union can reach their business and financial goals and experience the highest level of customer service. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Prepare Credit Memorandums, providing supporting documentation to present business loans for approval.
- Review borrower and guarantor documentation to ensure it matches the loan approval and complies with Loan Policy.
- Analyze and interpret financial documents including proforma financial statements using trend analysis, ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, industry averages, and macro/industry trends.
- Analyze and determine the suitability of pledged collateral securing proposed loans for compliance with internal loan policy and industry best practices. Must have deep familiarity and experience reading 3rd-party commercial appraisal reports, Environmental Phase I reports, Title Insurance Commitments and Policies, and insurance documentation.
- Provide well-written overviews of details uncovered while analyzing the financial documents of prospective borrowers and guarantors.
- Work closely with Senior Credit Officer on all aspects of the participated loan portfolio.
- On an ongoing basis, collaborate with the Senior Credit Officer to refine loan policy and procedures. Will be required to stay current on state and federal regulations concerning Member Business Lending.
- The Senior Credit Analyst may be asked to develop or refine a variety of reports and tracking mechanisms to appropriately monitor all aspects of a commercial loan portfolio.
- Track completion of the Annual Term Loan Review process, including timely monitoring of all required loan covenants, and work with Loan Officers to ensure required financial reporting documentation is received in a timely manner from all existing borrowers.
- Provide mentoring and support for the Junior Credit Analyst and collaborate with team members to meet short-term goals and long-term objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5)+ years of experience in commercial banking.
- Minimum of five (5)+ years direct credit analysis and commercial underwriting experience.
Skills Needed:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal commercial credit analysis training program from ABA, Moody’s or RMA preferred, including but not limited to the Credit Risk Certification designation or similar.
- Experience with nCino Loan Origination System.
- Community bank or credit union background and experience.
Working Conditions:
- This is a remote role, with day-to-day duties and assignments completed outside of a formal office environment. It is expected that the candidate hired for this role will have routine access to a quiet space from which to work. Candidates throughout the US time zones may apply for this role.
- Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
- The nature of work may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Compensation: Compensation is based on the candidate's geographical location, calculated based on an adjustment factor from the Seattle area market compensation.
