At the heart of SecondMuse is our core strategy: Drive Impact. This guiding principle shapes every decision we make, individually and collectively. It reflects our identity, purpose, and the unique value we deliver to our clients. Our work is centered on authentic relationships, innovation, and community-driven solutions that generate meaningful social, economic, and environmental impact. Each program has challenged our teams to develop targeted approaches to find and support visionary leaders with diverse experiences, motivations, and cultures.
SecondMuse is seeking a Country Consortium Coordinator to support a new multi-partner initiative focused on the responsible use of digital and AI-enabled tools to strengthen primary and community healthcare. Based in Malawi, the role will provide dedicated in-country coordination and implementation support, helping maintain effective working relationships with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, supporting implementing partners to work effectively within government systems, and ensuring timely follow-through on agreed activities.
This is primarily an in-country coordination and facilitation role rather than a technical AI role. The successful candidate should understand the health system, be comfortable working with government and development partners, and be able to coordinate effectively across different stakeholders. Specialist AI expertise is not required; knowledge and familiarity with digital health is strongly desirable.
We are looking for a capable, credible, and collaborative professional who understands the health sector in Malawi and can work effectively across government, development partners and implementing organizations. We value demonstrated experience, reliability, communication skills, and practical judgment more than senior titles or highly specialized technical credentials.
The incumbent will report to the Sr. Project and Team Lead. You will work as part of a small, distributed program team and alongside colleagues supporting other countries.
This is a full-time position based in Malawi, with regular in-country travel to Ministry of Health offices, districts, partner organizations, and facility sites as required. The role includes periodic regional or international travel for initiative convenings and workshops. You will work within a small, distributed team spanning Africa, Europe, and North America and will need to accommodate occasional meeting times across time zones.
The position is tied to the term of the initiative’s current funding, with continuation subject to funding renewal.
This role offers a competitive annual base salary commensurate with experience and location, along with benefits in line with SecondMuse policy and applicable local employment practice. SecondMuse is committed to fair and transparent compensation.
Our Hiring Process
Transparency and efficiency are central to our hiring process. We assess candidates against the skills and experience relevant to the role and give them opportunities to demonstrate their experience through real-world examples. The recruitment process will include structured screening and interviews, with a practical assessment for shortlisted candidates.
SecondMuse is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates and make employment decisions based on skills, experience, and fit for the role. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, nationality, ethnic or social origin, disability, property, birth, marital status, family responsibilities, pregnancy, HIV status, or any other ground protected by applicable law. Candidates who need reasonable accommodations during the recruitment process are encouraged to let us know.
