Role Overview:
SecondShop is looking for an Appliance Technician to be a key part of our Refurbishment Program. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing a variety of household appliances to ensure they meet our high-quality standards. You will work closely with the operations team to ensure appliances are tested, repaired, and restored to excellent working condition for resale.
What you'll be doing:
- Diagnose, repair, and refurbish household appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and other kitchen and laundry appliances.
- Perform routine inspections and testing to assess the condition of appliances and identify issues that need repair or refurbishment.
- Replace faulty components, clean, and restore appliances to meet quality standards before resale.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure a smooth workflow and meet refurbishment deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Keep accurate records of repairs and parts used for inventory and tracking purposes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, appliance technologies, and repair techniques to improve efficiency and quality.
- Troubleshoot complex appliance issues and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all repair and refurbishment activities.
Who we are looking for:
- 3+ years of experience in appliance repair or a similar technical field.
- Strong knowledge of common household appliances and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with diagnosing and repairing a wide range of appliance issues, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Technical certification or training in appliance repair is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while meeting quality standards and deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and cleanliness in the workplace.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
