Growth Product Manager

At SecondShop, we’re a team of Canadians who believe in doing better—for our country, your wallets, and our planet.

We started with a simple idea: why should perfectly good products go to waste or sit unsold when people like you are out there looking for smart ways to save? We have made it our mission to source the highest quality open-box, overstocked, and scratch-and-dent products from the top brands - offering them to Canadians at up to 50% off. But we are not just about savings—we’re about changing how people shop. Say goodbye to paying full price and hello to smarter spending.

Role Overview:

SecondShop is looking for a Growth Product Manager to own and optimize the e-commerce funnel from landing to checkout. You will turn insights from data and user behaviour into high-impact site improvements and own key metrics like conversion rate, average order value (AOV), and cart abandonment.

This role will be hybrid, with the ideal candidate residing in Toronto or Calgary for in person working sessions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own and optimize our full e-commerce funnel, from landing page to checkout, for a seamless, high-converting user experience.
  • Uncover friction points and drop-offs using data, heat maps, and qualitative insights to inform improvement opportunities.
  • Lead A/B and multivariate testing across product pages, cart, search, collections, filters, and promotional surfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI, engineering, and marketing to implement strategic, conversion-focused enhancements.
  • Analyze funnel performance, develop data-driven hypotheses, and clearly communicate test outcomes and insights.
  • Prioritize and launch high-impact experiments on a weekly basis to continuously improve site performance.
  • Enhance merchandising logic and optimize cross-sell, upsell, and bundling strategies to drive higher cart value.
  • Refine product detail pages to boost engagement, clarity, and search engine visibility.
  • Own and improve key e-commerce KPIs including conversion rate, AOV, bounce rate, and cart abandonment rate.

Who we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or driving growth within e-commerce environments.
  • Proven track record of increasing conversion rates and/or average order value at a high-growth e-commerce or marketplace company.
  • Expert-level proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, Shopify (or equivalent CMS), and A/B testing platforms like Google Optimize, Convert, or VWO.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead iterative testing and experimentation, consistently delivering measurable improvements.
  • Data-driven and highly analytical, with a knack for turning insights into strategic actions.
  • Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and marketing.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce UX, digital merchandising, and best practices in conversion rate optimization.
  • Experience in secondary markets is an asset (e.g., refurbished, resale, outlets).

What we offer:

  • A competitive base salary, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work with occasional travel to attend in-person team meetings or events.
  • Access to exclusive discounts on SecondShop products for yourself and your family.
  • As a growing startup, SecondShop offers ample opportunities to take on new challenges, contribute to shaping the company’s future, and take ownership of key initiatives.
  • Join a passionate and mission-driven team that values collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to sustainability and responsible shopping.
  • Align with a company that believes in sustainability, smart spending, and improving the lives of Canadians. You'll have the chance to make an impact every day!
