Position Summary

The Analytics Engineer sits within the Data & Analytics team and leads the delivery of analytics from the warehouse to internal users. This role builds dashboards, performs exploratory analysis, and shapes how data is structured and presented across the organization to support informed decision-making.


As the organization's dedicated Analytics Engineer, this individual partners closely with Data Engineering and Product to ensure upstream data models support accurate, intuitive, and scalable reporting. The role combines hands-on development with collaborative influence to make data clear, usable, and impactful for internal teams.


Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and iterate on dashboards and analytical reports using enterprise BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sisense)
  • Develop calculations and analytical logic within BI tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance
  • Conduct exploratory and ad hoc analyses using SQL and Python to answer new or ambiguous business questions
  • Work alongside Data Engineers to review and influence warehouse models so they effectively support downstream reporting needs
  • Translate stakeholder questions into structured analyses and well-designed reporting solutions
  • Work with structured warehouse data and existing data models to create clear, performant, and maintainable analytical outputs
  • Maintain and organize BI environments, documentation, and reporting standards
  • Move quickly to meet evolving business needs while maintaining high standards of precision and data integrity
  • Perform ad hoc requests as needed, working with stakeholders to merge frequent requests into the analytics domain
  • Apply new technologies, including AI, to meet the analysis and decision support needs of the organization


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent years of professional experience)

Experience:

  • Experience delivering dashboards and analytical outputs in enterprise BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sisense)
  • Experience developing calculations or expressions within BI platforms (e.g., DAX, LookML, calculated fields/columns)
  • Experience working with structured warehouse data and collaborating on data model improvements

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating data
  • Baseline proficiency in Python for data exploration or visualization
  • Strong data visualization skills, with the ability to design dashboards that are clear, logically structured, and visually meaningful
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to analytical accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and non-technical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Power BI and DAX; comparable advanced experience in other BI platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Sisense) will also be considered
  • Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
  • Experience contributing to reporting standards, governance practices, or documentation frameworks
  • Comfort operating in a growing data environment where processes and standards are still evolving
