Position Overview

The Regional Director is a member of the senior leadership team responsible for guiding strategic operations, service delivery, and regional development across multiple sites supporting individuals who are deafblind, experiencing sensory loss or communication challenges. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this role bridges high-level strategy with hands-on operational leadership, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and excellence. This position will be located in Eastern Ontario, ideally between Peterborough and Ottawa.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Lead regional operations in alignment with organizational goals and strategic plans.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement regional initiatives.
  • Drive regional growth, including site development and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Team Development & Management

  • Supervise operational managers and regional staff, promoting leadership development and team cohesion.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and professional excellence.

Financial & Risk Oversight

  • Manage regional budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and nonprofit regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and strategic risks.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

  • Build and maintain relationships with families, funders, government agencies, and community partners.
  • Promoting awareness of the needs of individuals supported by the organization.
  • Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts in collaboration with Sensity’s fund development and fundraising team.

Position Requirements

  • University degree in Psychology, Social Services, Social Work, Public Health or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 7 years senior management or equivalent combination of education, professional training and experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading diverse teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand and apply financial principles effectively in decision-making
  • Strategic, analytic, and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate effectively with employees.
  • Able to identify key issues creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
  • Strong knowledge of fiscal management and experience in planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • High level of initiative, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Flexible and innovative approach to operational management.
  • Management experience in a unionized environment.
  • Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening clearance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable and confident public speaking skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • French language would be considered an asset

The pay range for this role is:

96,000 - 110,000 CAD per year (Ontario, East )
