Senior/Principal Human Resources Business Partner


Preferred Position Location: Portland, OR (ideally working in office two days per week, at a minimum)


We are looking for an energetic, dynamic, and interpersonally skilled individual to join our team as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). SheerID is at an exciting point in its growth story and you will partner closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer to drive a talent and organization capability strategy that supports the business in achieving and exceeding its goals. In this role you will play a hands-on role partnering directly with leaders and employees across the organization to provide strategic HR guidance and operational support. You'll be instrumental in developing and implementing talent, organizational effectiveness and HR programs that align with our business objectives and foster an engaged, high performance culture and workplace. In our lean and agile environment, you'll have the unique opportunity to influence all facets of HR.


Role Specific Job Duties: 


Strategic HR Partnership:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leadership and managers on all people-related matters, including organizational design, talent management, employee development, and change management.
  • Translate business strategies into actionable HR initiatives and programs.
  • Utilize HR data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations that drive business decisions.

Talent Management & Development:

  • Design and deliver programs and learning focused on ensuring that SheerID’s people managers are highly skilled in their role developing teams and people.
  • Partner with managers to define talent needs, identify and develop high-potential employees and build robust talent pipelines.
  • Oversee and enhance the performance coaching and review processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and a focus on continuous feedback and growth.  Facilitate talent calibration and group-level succession and development planning.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to develop tools, resources, and training that ensure a great employee experience.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to develop tools, resources, and training that ensure a great employee experience.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations as needed.
  • Own and lead our employee engagement survey process.  Champion our company culture, developing and implementing initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention.
  • Serve as a trusted advocate and coach for employees, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.

Compensation & Recognition:

  • Partner with the CHRO on the execution of compensation strategy through both programmatic ownership for benchmarking, salary reviews, and the design and administration of incentive programs as well as strategic partnership to leaders on compensation challenges and issues.
  • Educate managers on compensation strategy and practice and ensure transparency and equity in the application of compensation programs.
  • Develop and support leaders in executing effective recognition programs.

HR Operations & Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems that are efficient, scalable, and compliant with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay current with HR best practices and legal updates, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.


Required Education / Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.  
  • Additional graduate degree, executive education and/or certification in human resources/coaching or related social science discipline strongly preferred.
  • At least 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR Business Partner role. SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification is not required, but is a plus.
  • Experience working in the SaaS / technology industry strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business needs into effective HR solutions based on strong business acumen.
  • Excellent project/program management skills with a proven ability to independently take a project from concept to execution.
  • Knowledgeable about change management best practices with demonstrated experience in leading organizational change and transformation.  
  • Data-driven and analytical.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, agile environment.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
