Sherman’s: Proudly Not Normal Since ’76 (and Counting!)

Forget everything you think you know about retail. Back in ’76, while the world was doing its thing, Sharon Sherman was busy building something different – a side hustle selling clocks and gifts with a whole lot of heart. Fast-forward nearly half a century, and Sherman’s has blossomed into four locations packed with home appliances, furniture, and mattresses.

Sure, we’ve grown beyond microwaves, but our family values? Rock solid.
Show Concern. Have Fun. Be Helpful. Demonstrate Integrity. Show Ambition. Develop Relationships. These aren’t just words on a wall; they’re the fuel that keeps us going.

Why are we here? Because we’re genuinely passionate about our community. We’re the neighbors who help people turn houses into homes. And it all started because Sharon dared to be different.

Now, about you.

You’re not looking for a job where you stand around waiting to be told what to do.

You like staying active.
You like physical work.
You take pride in keeping things clean, organized, and looking sharp.

You’re someone who notices what needs attention and takes care of it.

You communicate well with others.
You’re comfortable working independently.
And you take ownership of your space and responsibilities.

You don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to stay productive.

No egos. No drama. Just people who take pride in their work and help the team succeed.

So, What Does “Not Normal” Look Like Day-to-Day?

Every day in the store is a little different, but here’s what you can expect:

Keep the Showroom Looking Its Best
Take ownership of maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment so guests have a great experience when they walk in.

Prepare Products for the Floor
Unpack, assemble, and prep furniture, appliances, and mattresses for display or delivery.

Support Product Movement
Receive deliveries from our Distribution Center and help move products safely throughout the store.

Stay Organized and Proactive
Identify areas that need attention and take initiative to keep displays, storage areas, and workspaces clean, organized, and ready for business.

Work Closely with Leadership
Communicate regularly with store managers and the merchandising team to understand priorities and keep the showroom running smoothly.

What Makes Someone Successful Here?

Strong Work Ethic - You show up on time, work hard, and take pride in doing the job right.

Proactive Mindset - You don’t wait to be told what to do. You notice what needs attention and take initiative.

Clear Communication - You keep store leadership and teammates in the loop so things stay organized and moving.

Independence - You take ownership of your work and don’t need someone looking over your shoulder, but you also communicate well and jump in to help the team when needed.

Positive Attitude - You’re dependable, willing to learn, and bring a good attitude to work each day.

Physical Stamina - This is a hands-on role that involves lifting and moving large items like appliances and furniture.

The Bottom Line

This role plays an important part in keeping the store looking great and running smoothly.

It’s a position where initiative, communication, and ownership really matter.

You’ll have the independence to manage your responsibilities while working alongside a team that takes pride in the store and supports each other.

If that sounds like your kind of role, we’d love to meet you.
