About the role

Are you a parcel logistics expert who loves diving into data to find hidden competitive advantages? Shipium is looking for a Performance Engineer to serve as a high-impact, customer-facing consultant. You won’t just be implementing software; you’ll be leading strategic engagements that reshape how our customers handle fulfillment, carrier negotiations, and network design.

You will act as the bridge between complex data simulations and C-suite decision-making, ensuring our clients extract maximum value from the Shipium platform while directly influencing our future product roadmap.

What you'll do

  • Lead Strategic Engagements: Guide shippers through complex optimization projects, including Carrier Portfolio Management and Strategic Planning Workshops.
  • Execute High-Stakes Projects: Drive RFP and negotiation support through complex scenario modeling, and lead fulfillment optimization efforts like physical network design and inventory positioning.
  • Master Financial Controllership: Help customers manage their P&L by performing margin analysis, billing management, and budgeting support to identify and stop shipping margin erosion.
  • Be the "Voice of the Customer": Translate customer pain points and project outcomes into actionable feedback for our Product Development team to help shape the Shipium roadmap.
  • Monitor & Validate Performance: Use our Network Performance Dashboard and simulation tools to track and report on the tangible value realized from your recommendations.

Who You Are

  • A Strategic Thinker: You don't just see data points; you see the long-term supply chain vision and how to align it with a customer’s corporate financial objectives.
  • A Master Communicator: You can translate "tech-speak" and complex financial modeling into a clear, persuasive narrative for executive leadership.
  • Relentlessly Curious: You have a "detective" mindset, using resourcefulness and tech-savviness to solve unstructured problems with limited information.
  • A Trusted Advisor: You possess the interpersonal intelligence to navigate complex client dynamics and build credibility in high-stakes environments.

Qualifications

  • Parcel Shipping Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in parcel shipping and logistics (ideally on the shipper side or as a strategic consultant).
  • Contract Negotiation: 2+ years of experience managing contract components and levers. Experience with Parcel and LTL contract negotiation is a major plus.
  • Financial Literacy: 2+ years of deep experience with shipping invoicing, including surcharges, cost components, and discrepancy identification.
  • Consultative Background: Proven track record of diagnosing complex business challenges and aligning service delivery with client goals.
  • Tech Proficiency: Comfortable leveraging simulation tools and data dashboards to perform diagnostics and network modeling.
