About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our products, ensuring they provide intuitive and efficient experiences for our users while solving complex workflows. We are looking for someone who is both strategic and hands-on in defining and implementing design solutions that make a tangible impact on our product and users.

Job Summary:

As the Lead Product Designer, you will create and execute solutions to address user experience deficiencies across Shipium's web applications. You will take charge of the design function, leading the creation of seamless, user-centric workflows and experiences. This role involves a combination of strategic direction and hands-on design work, ensuring the end user can easily navigate and configure complex supply chain systems. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and mentor fellow designers as we continue to scale.


What you'll do

  • User Experience Strategy:
    Define and drive the overall user experience strategy for complex workflows in our supply chain management products, ensuring users can seamlessly navigate intricate product configurations.
  • Leadership & Mentorship:
    Lead design critiques, provide constructive feedback to elevate the team's output, and mentor junior designers to help establish a world-class design organization.
  • Workflow Design:
    Own the design of complex workflows, ensuring they are intuitive, user-friendly, and align with business objectives. Establish best practices for workflow design, balancing usability with functionality.
  • User Research & Testing:
    Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and pain points. Create detailed prototypes and run user tests to iterate quickly and refine designs.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
    Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that simplify complex supply chain configurations. Actively participate in product discovery and ensure designs meet technical feasibility and business goals.
  • Design System & Process:
    Develop and maintain a consistent design system, ensuring visual and functional consistency across all workflows and configurations. Build and implement efficient design processes to support scalability.
  • Performance Tracking & Improvement:
    Track design metrics to evaluate the success of workflow improvements and their impact on user experience. Measure the effectiveness of UX innovations and adjust designs based on feedback.
  • Continuous Learning:
    Stay updated on the latest design tools, trends, and best practices. Seek out new techniques to enhance creativity, productivity, and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
    • 7+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, ideally in a SaaS or B2B environment.
    • Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment.
  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, Sketch, and front-end technologies like HTML and CSS.
    • Strong understanding of complex workflows and user needs in B2B software.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead design initiatives from concept through production.
    • Experience in conducting user research, prototyping, and user testing.
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and strategies.

The pay range for this role is:

160,000 - 174,000 USD per year (United States)
