About the role

Are you a seasoned logistics professional with a knack for technical systems and a deep understanding of parcel and final mile carrier operations? Do you thrive on translating operational complexity into clean, technical solutions? We're looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Carrier Operations Specialist to become the critical link between our external carrier partners and internal engineering teams.

This is a technical and operational role focused on maintaining the integrity and successful integration of our shipping carrier network. You'll be the expert ensuring smooth data flow, system configurations, and efficient troubleshooting for a seamless end-to-end shipping process.

What you'll do

Your success in this role is built on a foundation of robust project management and technical-logistics expertise. Key responsibilities include:

  • System Configuration: Support and manage carrier settings within internal systems, including rate cards, service levels, and routing rules.
  • Technical Integration & Troubleshooting: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to resolve complex technical integration issues and ensure smooth data exchange between our platforms and carrier systems.
  • Operational Translation: Work directly with carriers to deeply understand their operations and translate those nuances into clear, actionable technical requirements for our internal teams.
  • Process Management: Proactively address carrier-related issues and escalations to ensure timely resolution, and manage related Jira tickets.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for carrier integrations and operational processes.
  • Partnership: Support strong relationships with our carrier partners, fostering open communication and collaborative partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years of related experience in a logistics or transportation-based role.
  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience with parcel and/or final mile carrier operations or transportation management.
  • Technical Logistics: Strong command and working experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) software.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple technical and operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate technical requirements and manage external carrier relationships.

Bonus Points (Great to Have!):

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools like Excel, SQL, and/or BI platforms.
  • Experience in the e-commerce industry.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and web services.

Experience with rate card development and/or contract negotiations.
