Description:
We are seeking a highly talented Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our dynamic CCaaS startup! In this role, you will design, develop, and implement unique web-based applications that power our cloud communications platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create scalable solutions and drive our product’s evolution.
What You'll Do:
- Develop & Implement: Create back-end code and front-end user interfaces for new web platforms using Ruby on Rails.
- Analyze & Enhance: Evaluate user needs to implement web content, graphics, performance, and capacity improvements.
- Collaborate with Team: Engage in daily standups with engineering and product team. Meet weekly with executive team discussing company strategy and growth goals.
- Integrate: Seamlessly integrate web applications with other computer systems and APIs.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date on emerging web trends and technologies.
- Feature Development: Assist in developing new features and maintaining our cloud and mobile applications.
- Prioritize Enhancements: Collaborate with the team to prioritize platform improvements using data-driven insights and sound judgment.
- Innovate: Brainstorm with the Project Manager to create innovative strategies that boost development velocity.
Qualifications:
- Ruby on Rails Expertise: 7+ years of web development experience with a strong focus on Ruby on Rails.
- Front-end & Mobile: Experience with React Native and modern front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React).
- Version Control: Proficiency with GIT concepts, particularly using GitHub.
- Cloud & Hosting: Hands-on experience with cloud applications and DevOps hosting platforms, notably AWS.
- Testing & Upgrades: Demonstrated experience upgrading Rails projects and using automated testing frameworks (RSpec, Capybara, BrowserStack, Selenium).
- Database Skills: Experience with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases.
- Agile Environment: Strong knowledge of agile development principles and practices.
- Diverse Tech Stack: Experience with modern web languages and frameworks (PHP, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Node.js) as well as with Backbone.js and CoffeeScript.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
- Additional Tools: Familiarity with Honeybadger (Error monitoring), Pusher (Pub Sub), Monday.com (Project Management), Vanta (Trust Management and Compliance), Google Workspace, Zoom, and Slack are preferred.
Contract Details:
- This is a contractor role with an hourly rate starting at $25-$28 per hour.
- Work is performed on a contract basis.
