Jess Legge and Kimberly Lexow were masters of the 9 to 5 - working at a high-growth tech start-up, with one question: “Could the work lunch be better?”

Sifted kitchens are zero food waste with all food scraps being composted and all leftovers being donated everyday. Since launching our donation program, Sifted has donated over $3M in lunches to those who experience food insecurity in our 6 cities. About the role


Schedule: Monday - Friday // 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm


The Lead Kitchen Porter supports the kitchen leadership with daily cleaning and receiving, takes point on delegating and completing tasks, and presents as a leader to the rest of the dishwash team. The Lead Kitchen Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitized and functional environment for the culinary team to use. The Lead Kitchen Porter will manage a team of two dishwashers, and be responsible for receiving and organization of products.



What you'll be doing

  • Lead dishwashing team in completion of daily duties.
  • Hold full ownership of organization and stock rotation in the walk in and dry storage areas.
  • Execute strict quality control and assurance, act as Sanitation and Safety Champion in the SEA kitchen
  • Own daily end of day procedure, closing the kitchen each day and leaving it ready for the next day.
  • Lead with daily deep-clean items, comply with and enforce sanitary regulations and safety standards
  • Assist the CDC and/or Managing Chef with the development and augmentation of systems in place

  • Lead by example in all aspects of the business (production/attitude/cleaning/punctuality)
  • Lead by example in regards to safety and sanitation standards set by the local Health Department
  • Ability to work efficiently in order to maximize team output and minimize overall labor hours
  • Ability to maintain a calm and collected demeanor.

  • Compensation : $27 per hour

Eligibility : This position must maintain a Washington State Food Handler's certification


Work environment : This position is based in a commercial kitchen


Physical requirements : This position requires standing for up to 6 hours at a time and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.


The pay range for this role is:

27 - 27 USD per hour (Seattle Kitchen)
