At Sight Machine, you will work with manufacturing leaders in the automotive, medical device, apparel, construction, and pharmaceutical industries. You will have access to, and work with massive amounts of factory floor data to help uncover insights on how customers make products and develop solutions to pressing business problems. The platform solves problems like Extract Transform Load (ETL), information retrieval, data aggregation and analytics, factory automation, distributed computing, and security.

About the Data Scientist Role

As a Data Scientist, you will sift through massive amounts of factory floor data to uncover insights into how customers make products and develop solutions to pressing business problems for some of the world’s most iconic manufacturers and technology providers, including industry leaders like Microsoft, Siemens, and Databricks.  If you are interested in complex solution-finding, strong communication skills, and ever-deepening subject matter expertise in manufacturing, AI/ML, and cutting-edge technologies, please apply for this position. What You'll Do

• Consult with customers to clarify business problems and understand requirements and shape solution design.
• Perform analysis and modeling, selecting and wrangling appropriate data, develop visualizations and applications, and use storytelling to communicate your results.
• Generalize specific customer solutions to develop future product additions in the Sight Machine platform.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to add new features and contribute to the development of our data platform
• Train customers on how to get the most out of their analytics 
• Support our sales teams during customer calls and provide the data science "point of view" on how we help customers gain insights from their factory floor data.
• Perform exploratory research on the latest methodologies in data science and predictive analytics, ranging from researching which algorithms may be useful to apply to manufacturing analytics to diving into the latest research on big data architectures

This position requires up to 20%  domestic and international travel to client business and factory sites to meet with clients, drive conversations on data science and AI/ML, and participate in onsite strategy sessions. The frequency of travel will vary based on the client.
