JOB SUMMARY
 
This role is for an innovative, self-motived team leader to manage product strategy, development and R&D for the multiple circuit simulation products in the Silvaco SmartSpice© line of products.    Provide technical and results-driven product leadership, as head of a geographically distributed team of software engineers and technical managers. Represent R&D as part of a cross-functional team in developing product strategy and roadmaps, interfacing also with sales, support and customers to derive requirements. Establish and enforce engineering best practices, to deliver high-quality circuit simulation solutions for our customers. 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES; include but not limited to:
  • Manage the R&D team and roadmap for the Silvaco SmartSpice© line of products within the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) business unit.
  • Lead a geographically distributed team of software engineers and technical managers, while providing technical leadership, coaching, mentorship and guidance for team development and growth.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to define a product strategy and roadmap to achieve business objectives and communicate project statuses. 
  • Delivering software releases in line with the product roadmap, on time and with high quality.
  • Customer support activities, as well as pre- and post-sales activities, second-level support, and the qualification of opportunities. 
  • Convey complex technical concepts to clearly and effectively to both customers and peers in verbal and written English.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in electrical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or a similar field with 6 or more years of related experience. 
  • Understanding (preferably advanced) of the fundamentals, as well as development experience, of VLSI circuit simulation, electrical circuit analysis techniques and concepts.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of solid-state physics used in compact modeling for circuit simulation.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management and resource allocation and prioritization and tracking.
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills to lead teams cross-functionally and effectively.
  • Familiar with EDA design environments and able to script in standard languages.
  • Experience managing the software development lifecycle, prioritize activities and deliver projects on time and within expectations.
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in international and remote team building preferred.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Prolonged periods of typing
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
  • Ability to lift (up) to 15 pounds at times.
 
All Silvaco salary ranges are determined by role, level, and geographic location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations. 
Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
