About the role

The Director of IT, Cybersecurity & Data Governance is responsible for safeguarding SGC’s information environment, enforcing IT standards, managing IT infrastructure and devices, and ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and contractual technology requirements. This leader drives SGC’s AI governance strategy, oversees responsible AI use, contributes to AI research and development, and manages enterprise database environments. The role also ensures quality assurance across IT operations, supports secure technology onboarding/offboarding, and plays a strategic part in business development by aligning technology, cybersecurity, and AI capabilities with client needs to unlock new revenue opportunities and elevate service offerings.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Growth

  • Partner with executive leadership to identify market opportunities where SGC’s IT, cybersecurity, and AI capabilities create competitive advantages.
  • Support proposal development by defining technical scopes, cybersecurity strategies, infrastructure plans, and AI/analytics capabilities that strengthen bids.
  • Represent IT, Cybersecurity, and AI expertise in client-facing meetings, demos, and strategy sessions.
  • Evaluate client needs and design scalable solutions that expand service delivery and drive new revenue.
  • Support creation of new service offerings, such as cybersecurity assessments, AI-driven analytics, secure data environments, and advanced IT governance solutions.
  • Track emerging technologies and compliance requirements to anticipate future client demand and position SGC ahead of competitors.
  • Partner with operations and technology teams to ensure client programs meet performance expectations, leading to renewals, and higher-value engagements.

Cybersecurity Leadership

  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy, controls, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and contract-specific security standards (e.g., NIST, CJIS, FEMA IT requirements).
  • Lead risk assessments, vulnerability scans, penetration testing coordination, and all remediation planning.
  • Maintain secure and compliant environments for AI/ML workloads and sensitive datasets.

Corporate IT Policies & Governance

  • Develop, publish, and enforce corporate IT policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
  • Manage identity governance, access controls, and enforcement of data-security protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and legal IT obligations, including those impacting AI and data-driven decision systems.

Device & Asset Management

  • Oversee full lifecycle for company-issued devices, including procurement, imaging, configuration, tracking, and retirement.
  • Manage MDM programs, endpoint security, and device audits with impeccable accuracy.
  • Ensure assets remain compliant with cybersecurity and contract requirements.

Onboarding & Offboarding (Technology)

  • Manage secure provisioning of accounts, devices, roles, tech profiles, and data access for new hires.
  • Ensure rapid and secure offboarding, including credential removal and device reclamation.
  • Maintain standardized access pathways and identity management protocols across all systems.

Database & Data Environment Management

  • Oversee design, security, and performance optimization of corporate databases and structured data repositories.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and availability of data for operations, analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases.
  • Maintain database standards for disaster recovery, backups, monitoring, and access governance.
  • Implement data retention, classification, and lifecycle policies across the enterprise.

AI Governance & Research/Development

  • Establish and enforce SGC’s enterprise AI governance framework, covering ethical use, accountability structures, transparency standards, and compliance considerations.
  • Lead the lifecycle management of AI/ML models and automation tools used internally or delivered to clients.
  • Direct internal AI R&D efforts to explore, test, and implement emerging technologies that increase operational efficiency and client value.
  • Collaborate with service lines to evaluate and integrate AI-powered capabilities into SGC programs, ensuring responsible design, validation, and monitoring.

Quality Assurance & Project Compliance

  • Lead the QA function for IT operations, including documentation standards, audit readiness, and issue-resolution quality.
  • Conduct routine IT control reviews, security posture assessments, and compliance audits.
  • Oversee data integrity QA processes supporting databases, analytics, and AI systems.
  • Project & Contract Support
  • Provide leadership for all IT-, cybersecurity-, and AI-related components of customer contracts.
  • Ensure environmental readiness, data security, and compliance for client implementations and federal programs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on projects as needed.


Qualifications and Core Competencies 

The following qualifications and competencies represent the capabilities and leadership behaviors most strongly associated with success in this role. While not all competencies are required at an expert level, candidates who demonstrate strength across these areas will be well positioned to lead Simeon Global’s IT, cybersecurity, AI governance, and data management functions effectively.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including direct responsibility for cybersecurity oversight.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degrees.
  • Demonstrated competency in incident response, vendor management, and regulatory/compliance requirements. 
  • Proven ability to balance security, operational usability, and business growth objectives while maintaining strong governance and controls.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, as business needs require.
