The Opportunity


Skift is looking for a skilled and dynamic Event Marketing Lead to join our remote UK team. This role is pivotal in driving the marketing strategy for high-profile B2B events. The primary focus of the role is to increase ticket sales by individuals and groups. The role involves marketing to both global and local travel industry audiences for events taking place in the U.S., UAE, and UK. You will oversee online event marketing efforts leveraging email campaigns, paid search, and strategic partnerships, while also mentoring and managing a Junior Marketing Manager to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives aligned with business goals.


Skift is a fully distributed, remote company with employees based across the globe. This position is remote and requires a high level of coordination and communication skills to be successful. You must be able to work independently, meet goals, set tasks in a timely manner, join meetings via video, and periodically work outside normal company hours for special events or projects.


Some of What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to boost ticket sales for all company events.
  • Craft and deliver compelling messaging to drive attendance from target audiences across various regions.
  • Lead effective email marketing campaigns, paid search strategies, and partnerships to maximize event registrations and revenue.
  • Work closely with the Event Programming Team and Editorial Team to align marketing efforts with event themes, speaker lineups, and content strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Junior Marketing Manager to create compelling landing pages, digital assets, and content to enhance event visibility and audience engagement.
  • Partner with the Creative Team to develop impactful event branding and cultivate industry partnerships to amplify event reach.
  • Cultivate partnerships with key industry organizations to amplify event reach and secure promotional support.
  • Monitor marketing performance metrics, track attendee acquisition trends, and optimize campaigns based on data insights.
  • Produce post-event reports that analyze the success of marketing efforts and provide recommendations for future improvements.
  • Supervise and mentor a Marketing Manager, guiding their professional growth and ensuring the timely delivery of marketing campaigns.
  • Other tasks as required

The Experience You Bring 

  • 4+ years of experience in B2B or B2C event marketing.
  • Proven track record of driving successful marketing campaigns for in-person and virtual events, with a focus on increasing ticket sales.
  • Expertise in digital marketing tools and platforms, preferably Hubspot.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with creative, editorial, and programming teams.
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Excellent project management skills with a focus on multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior team members is highly desirable.
