Client Solutions and Growth Manager: Driving Strategic Growth and Client Innovation in the Travel Industry

Why This Role Matters

Skift is the global media authority on travel. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a highly motivated  Client Solutions and Growth Manager to expand our portfolio of travel industry clients and lead new business development. This role is ideal for a results-driven sales pro who excels at identifying and closing new business opportunities, bringing both strategic insight and energy to client engagement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the travel industry and a forward-thinking approach, leveraging AI tools to maximize efficiency, from prospecting through to deal closure. 

This is a remote position based in North America, with a strong preference for candidates in the Central Time Zone (especially the Chicago or Dallas regions).

Skift is a fully distributed, remote company with employees based across the globe. This position requires a high level of coordination and communication skills to be successful. You must be able to work independently, meet goals, set tasks in a timely manner, join meetings via video, and periodically work outside normal company hours for special events or projects.

What You’ll Focus On

  • New Business Development
    Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects and deliver against revenue targets through proactive outreach, compelling proposals, and strategic follow-up.
  • Client Solutions Strategy
    Craft and pitch creative marketing and advertising solutions that align with each client’s goals, drawing on Skift’s market expertise and your knowledge of emerging trends.
  • AI-Driven Prospecting
    Leverage AI tools and automation to streamline lead generation, personalize outreach, and accelerate the sales process, from first touch to final signature.
  • Relationship Building
    Foster trust with travel and tourism stakeholders, meeting with clients virtually and in person, and helping them solve challenges through smart, data-backed programs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Work closely with Skift’s agency, editorial, and finance teams to execute programs, lead contract negotiations, and deliver a smooth client experience.
  • Market Insight
    Stay ahead of the curve in the travel sector, identifying patterns and sharing insights that inform how we sell and deliver.

Some of What You'll Do

  • Own new client acquisition and renewals, focusing on long-term value and strategic partnerships
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide thoughtful, solutions-oriented follow-ups.
  • Develop proposals, facilitate negotiations, and coordinate internal resources to deliver on commitments.
  • Be accountable to revenue targets and build a plan to hit and exceed them
  • Represent Skift with integrity and curiosity at events, client meetings, and internal strategy sessions
  • Use AI tools (like ChatGPT, Apollo, and CRM automation) as part of your daily workflow
  • Travel Required (including company retreat): ~30%

The Experience You Bring

  • 3 -5 years in sponsorship and content sales; knowledge of the travel industry a plus
  • A proven track record of consistently exceeding sales goals
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to optimize sales efforts
  • Strong communicator and presenter with the ability to manage complex negotiations
  • Experience with CRMs and sales forecasting
  • A self-starter who’s highly organized and thrives in a remote, collaborative team
