The Application Support Administrator will be responsible for providing support to the Platform Support Desk for escalations in supporting the day-to-day operations of the platform.  Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting, advisory, and remediation of content owner and end user issues related to content hosted on the Skillable Studio platform, the configuration of content on the Skillable Studio and TMS platforms, handling internal escalations for content related issues, and occasional travel to attend quarterly departmental meetings.  The role also includes an on-call escalation rotation. 


Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary escalation point for the Platform Support Desk concerning Content issues reported in tickets. 
  • Respond to and resolve tickets within the SLA, ensure tickets are tagged appropriately, escalate issues as needed, and provide timely response to tickets that are opened in support of the production operations of the platform.  
  • Design technical solution proposals for content stakeholders.  
  • Manage internal communications channels to ensure incident resolution.  
  • Perform day to day administrative, management, and configuration tasks.  
  • Engage with internal staff and support to understand platform use and shortcomings.  
  • Contribute to discussions and decisions on the directions we are taking and ongoing projects/tasks  
  • Analyze platform usage to determine and document best practices and templates.  
  • Travel to on-site locations, domestic and international, for meetings and projects  
  • Assist in writing documentation that includes the necessary information required for publishing to internal or external consumption     
  • Other duties to assist in the daily function of the platform and business needs  
  • Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external partners and customers on a regular basis.  
  • Other strategic business initiatives or cross-functional project involvement as required. 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or relevant professional experience 
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot using many different resources.  
  • Preference for someone with Lab Development experience 
  • Familiarity with enterprise server configuration and management  
  • Familiarity with enterprise L2 and L3 networking and firewall management  
  • Familiarity with many different technologies in the Windows and Linux families.  
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, BASH, Python, etc.)  
  • Hyper-V, VMware, and/or Cloud Platform familiarity (Azure, AWS, GCP) 
  • Content creation and management using the markdown tools 
  • Understanding of virtual disk management and virtual networking 
  • Ability to work with others to take sets of abstract requirements and define methods of achieving those requirements using the released capabilities of a platform  
  • Ability to objectively analyze how a platform is used and make recommendations on how to improve the platform through 
  • Ability to prioritize and organize large volumes of data and documents. 

Salary Range 


The base salary for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 annually. This range does not include at plan potential for commissions and/or quarterly upsides. This role is not eligible for Skillable’s corporate bonus plan. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans. 


Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges. 


Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.

Working Conditions:  


The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
