The Technical Program Manager, Events will be responsible for creating and owning the customer experience throughout the event lab delivery’s lifecycle. They will manage upcoming deliveries, potential dangers, and determine solutions to alleviate issues. They will provide clear and effective readiness materials, documentation, and tools to support external customers, troubleshoot issues and process necessary changes as a course of business. They will serve as the subject matter expert on Skillable’s event delivery philosophy and processes and a success focused trusted partner to the customer at all times. 


This person must first and foremost meet the technical requirements outlined in the qualifications section to effectively complete the technical work ahead of events and execute at events. 


Responsibilities

  • Manage customer event program portfolio and ensure transparency of timing and deadlines company-wide. 
  • Work with managers and stakeholders internally to align and assign team members and technical resources to support all scheduled activities, including creating, documenting, and regularly maintaining project plans of on-site and virtual customer events. 
  • Represent departmental functions and goals during communications and calls with customers and stakeholders, participating in sales motions, demos and other go to market activities as necessary.  
  • Manage deployment of on-prem and cloud infrastructure for customer deliveries as needed. 
  • Assist in identifying new opportunities to ensure competitive growth and advantage across Skillable’s product offering. 
  • Own the event statement of work details to ensure all parts of the program are running smoothly, classes and events are performing well, and plans are in place to support customers. 
  • Partner with leadership on strategic goals and emerging trends with upcoming deliveries. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Skillable’s platform to the customer. 
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure effective flow of communication and all critical milestones are met while keeping all key stakeholders appropriately engaged.  
  • Identify and address problems and risks while ensuring ongoing and updated program progress and applicable documentation is updated.  
  • Review program goals regularly appropriately align and adjust deliverables to anticipated program outcomes and to plan for scalability and sustainability.  
  • Regularly evaluate and assess the event programs’ strengths and weaknesses, data, capacity and overall execution to understand useful trends in future decision making and drive improvement of internal processes. 
  • Define resources needed and create project plans for customer events and large deliveries to ensure success. 
  • Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external partners and customers on a regular basis. 
  • Client centric, approachable, ability to adjust to client needs and style and deepen relationships in support of their business and programs; adapt to ever changing demands and different client work styles. 
  • Work intelligently and ensure that the Customer Events Manager is aware of problems or issues which negatively affect productivity 
  • Other strategic business initiatives or cross-functional project involvement as required. 
  • Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external partners and customers on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR related equivalent professional experience. 
  • 8+ years working closely with customers in a role that focuses on guiding and advising customers. 
  • Expertise with tech ed platforms, products, and the Skillable customer ecosystem preferred. 
  • Experience with various cloud providers (for example, Azure, AWS), virtualization, imaging, learning management systems, and Zendesk desired.  
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%) for on-site management of events to ensure full success and reconciliation. 
  • Experience with complex conferences and events of varying scale.  
  • Experience working cross-functionally and promoting collaborative partnerships to drive results. 
  • Proven ability to deliver success in fast-paced, high-pressure environment situations. 
  • Proven ability to work and communicate effectively to various audiences/levels including leadership through various mediums. 
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines and Company standards. 
  • Experience understanding the needs and expectations of the customers and ensure that they are met or exceeded. 
  • Data collection and analysis skills.  
  • Naturally inquisitive with a desire to solve problems and dig into detailed analysis. 
  • Thorough understanding (or willingness to learn expeditiously) of business operations and processes. 
  • Interest and ability in mentoring other team members as applicable. 

Salary Range 


The base salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans. 


Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges. 


Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.

Working Conditions:  


The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
