The E-Commerce Director will own development responsibility for Skillable’s e-commerce partnerships with Tier 1 Enterprise Software organizations select ecosystem partners and other high growth market opportunities from inception to contracting. Build and maintain a sales pipeline with a high conversion rate, identify new sales opportunities through networking initiatives and establish b themselves as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process in support of Skillable’s market growth.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive strategic client prospecting, key presentations, negotiations, contract development and product solutions with key stakeholders and executives, ensuring all deliverable milestones are met to win new logos and support company revenue goals.
- Create, maintain, and execute creative and applicable account strategies for top tier account assignments and targets with a Channel Sales focus.
- Consistently conduct high-touch, strategic prospecting efforts in collaboration with Account Based Marketing campaign programs and appropriate cross functional teams within Skillable.
- Create e-commerce opportunity pipelines through best-practice, disciplined networking, prospecting, discovery, and qualification techniques.
- Be accountable to produce self-sourced first meetings (in addition to those generated for you through Demand Generation programs) in order to generate sufficient pipeline coverage for sales quota target.
- Document and regularly maintain sales opportunity data and provide accurate sales forecasting.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead to close including choregraphing the proper use of Skillable assets and cross-functional internal resources
- Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy and broader sales organization to develop sales strategies, monitor and analyze KPIs, and beat organizational revenue goals as a team.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to understand prospects’ desired organizational outcomes, dynamics and details of their organization and propose appropriate solutions and services to ensure satisfaction and success.
- Understand and sell a complete virtual labs solution, along with content, services, and support to ensure customers’ objectives for lab distribution are met.
- Continuously partner with internal product, technology and customer experience teams to stay aware of key product features and differentiators.
- Develop and employ an understanding of industry knowledge related to market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
- Consistently and regularly meet or exceed quarterly and annual quotas.
- Assist in mentoring and guiding other revenue team members in strategy and creative methodologies to push sales cycle timeframes and new logo acquisition.
- Develop and scale a team of cross functional teams aligned to the company's e-commerce growth objectives including oversight of the commercialization, contracting and governance processes.
- Serve as the key revenue team representative to critical teams within Skillable such as Operations, Legal Product and Technology, Finance, Marketing, Direct and Indirect Sales
- Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external partners and customers on a regular basis.
- Other strategic business initiatives or cross-functional project involvement as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (business administration, sales, etc.) or relevant professional experience.
- 15+ years of applicable experience in technology sales environments.
- 10 + years of indirect or channel sales and market development preferred.
- Broad experience working cross functionally to secure support for new business and new business development initiatives.
- Proven experience of putting together a vertical market category for market expansion.
- Ability to indirectly create product appeal for external organizations by proving superior value proposition opportunity by accessing and aligning with Skillable’s product offering.
- Full-cycle new business acquisition selling experience in learning or ed-tech space strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to sell enterprise solutions in a 100% remote environment through strong digital selling skills including effective written communication, social selling, and engaging online presentations.
- Experienced working through and navigating longer sales cycles up to two years with patience and professionalism.
- Knowledge of technology education trends and typical enterprise technology skill needs
- Strong problem-solving and business analysis skills.
- Naturally inquisitive with a desire to solve problems and dig into detailed analysis.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to various audiences/levels including leadership through various mediums.
- Ability to take complex matters and deconstruct them into concise, impactful messages.
- Ability to present and convey material both formally and informally to various personas at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload while ensuring an appropriate sense of urgency. \
- Strong MS Office, web conferencing and internal communication software skills.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- High-level of enthusiasm, integrity, professionalism, and confidence.
Salary Range
The base salary for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 annually. This range does not include at plan potential for commissions and/or quarterly upsides. This role is not eligible for Skillable’s corporate bonus plan. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans.
Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges.
Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.
Pay range and current benefit offerings are effective for 90 days from posting date. Standard employment offerings are subject to potential change upon periodic review and analysis, at the discretion of Skillable.

Working Conditions:
The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
