The Solutions Engineer will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between Skillable’s innovative technical solutions and our customer needs by leveraging a combination of technical expertise, sales acumen and customer management skills. They will work directly with Skillable’s sales team and prospective customers to design, implement, and present interactive demos of Skillable’s platform while serving as a subject matter expert in Skillable’s technological features and helping customers understand the value proposition of our products and service offerings and criticality in the success of their business objectives. They will present customers with professional and polished communications around product value leveraging expertise and keen business acumen to deliver and translate technical concepts into everyday language in support of Skillable’s revenue and growth goals. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in customer discovery to understand technical needs and success criteria, and deliver tailored product demos that address key use cases and outcomes.  
  • Support technical evaluations and trials by configuring lab environments and providing guidance.  
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and consultative partner of Skillable’s product solutions, preparing and delivering technical presentations, answering questions, and explaining product integration into the prospect's ecosystem. 
  • Create and conduct sales presentations that align with department standards, in partnership with sales, that match customer requirements and business outcomes. Ensuring Skillable’s product abilities are clearly highlighted and understood by all audiences.
  • Respond clearly and effectively to written proposals/RFP’s for current and prospective customers, in partnership with applicable Revenue team members, maintaining a repository of informational records and future use. 
  • Share feedback with internal teams to help improve both the pre-sales process and platform capabilities.  
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry and competitive position of Skillable to confidently express the value of our product offering in comparison to alternative options or competitors. 
  • Regularly update sales data and other metrics within the CRM or other systems for accurate reporting. 
  • Leverage business acumen and internal partners to present persuasive arguments highlighting the unique benefits of Skillable's products and services to prospective customers. 
  • Use technical and platform knowledge to design solutions for customer-specific concerns and needs. 
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure prospects understand the technical aspects of Skillable products and how they can meet business objectives. 
  • Assist upline leaders in summarizing standard department and customer metrics and customer data for larger organizational consumption and learning. 
  • As requested, partner with senior team members to support and serve as back-up for exceptional complex or robust customer needs. 
  • Maintain customer intellectual property, confidentiality and security when working with Trials and POCs.  
  • Support and promote company values through interactions with internal and external partners and customers. 
  • Participate in other strategic business initiatives or cross-functional projects as required. 

 Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Sales/Solutions Engineering, or similar, experience at a B2B Software company, preferably in HR tech, EdTech, or Cloud Infrastructure.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant professional experience. 
  • Basic familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization (ESXi, Hyper-V) strongly preferred.  
  • Foundational scripting ability in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar - or a willingness and capability to develop these skills quickly in the role.  
  • Comfort with standard enterprise/education integration protocols (REST APIs, LTI 1.1/1.3, SCORM, SSO).  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor technical messaging to different audiences. 
  • Proven experience possessing strong technical expertise in SaaS, Cloud Technlogies and API integrations with various HR/IT platforms, cloud computing platforms, and hypervisors strongly desired. 
  • Experience working with Enterprise-level sales professionals and leaders to drive sales cycles to close a plus. 
  • Experience in lab virtualization, and/or experience building labs a plus. 
  • Experience working cross-functionally and promoting collaborative partnerships to drive results.  
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to various audiences/levels, both internal and external stakeholders through various mediums.  
  • Ability to present and convey material both formally and informally to all levels of an organization.  
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet project deadlines.  
  • A high-level of confidence, integrity and professional courtesy.  
  • Strong Microsoft suite experience, including teams or similar web conferencing and internal communication software experience preferred.  
  • Naturally inquisitive with a desire to learn, solve problems and dig into detailed analysis.  
  • Experience working in a fully remote team is preferred, but not required.  
  • Thorough understanding (or willingness to learn expeditiously) of business operations and processes.  

 

Salary Range 


The base salary for this position is $115,000 - $135,000 annually. This range does not include at plan potential for commissions and/or quarterly upsides. This role is not eligible for Skillable’s corporate bonus plan. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans. 


Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges. 


Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time. 


Pay range and current benefit offerings are effective for 90 days from posting date.  Standard employment offerings are subject to potential change upon periodic review and analysis, at the discretion of Skillable.

Working Conditions:  


The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 25% of the time.
