Project Manager - Critical Infrastructure

Position Title: Project Manager – Critical Infrastructure

Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States

(Regular coordination with field teams and periodic travel to project sites required)


JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager – Critical Infrastructure is responsible for end-to-end delivery of assigned projects

supporting mission-critical construction and infrastructure programs.


This role owns project execution, financial performance, schedule adherence, change management, and client coordination for individual projects. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for project outcomes and works closely with field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and internal support teams to ensure successful delivery.


The Project Manager operates with a high degree of independence while aligning with organizational standards, processes, and leadership direction. This role is expected to manage complexity, anticipate risk, and make informed decisions to protect safety, quality, schedule, and margin.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Execution & Delivery (40%)

  • Own planning, execution, and delivery of assigned projects from kickoff through closeout.
  • Lead project initiation activities including scope review, contract setup, schedules, and execution planning.
  • Coordinate day-to-day execution with field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure work is executed in accordance with contract documents, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Resolve execution issues and constraints; escalate material risks appropriately.


Financial & Change Management (25%)

  • Own project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
  • Track project financial performance including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
  • Identify scope changes and prepare change order documentation for client and internal review.
  • Support negotiations of change orders and contract adjustments with clients and trade partners.
  • Maintain accurate cost reporting and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.


Schedule & Risk Management (20%)

  • Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone tracking.
  • Monitor progress against schedule and implement recovery actions as required.
  • Identify risks related to schedule, procurement, staffing, or execution and develop mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate closely with field leadership to align schedule, manpower, and work sequencing.


Client, GC & Stakeholder Management (15%)

  • Serve as the primary client-facing representative for assigned projects.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, GCs, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans clearly and professionally.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to support long-term client success.


Completion of assigned tasks and deliverables on time with strong attention to detail

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 6–10 years of experience in project management roles within construction, mission-critical, or complex technical environments
  • Demonstrated success owning projects from kickoff through closeout
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows, scheduling, and cost management
  • Experience coordinating with field leadership, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, change orders, and project financials
  • Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, schedules, and technical documentation
  • Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and project management platforms (e.g., Procore, MS Project, BIM 360, or similar)
  • Strong organizational skills, decision-making ability, and accountability in fast-paced environments

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working on a computer.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to rent vehicles
  • Up to approximately 20–25% travel for project meetings, site visits, and coordination activities
  • Domestic travel may be required; a valid REAL ID–compliant identification or passport is required for air travel
  • Travel may include transportation by car or plane depending on business needs


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant project management experience may be considered
  • Experience in mission-critical, hyperscale, or technically complex environments is strongly preferred
