Position Title: Delivery Manager – Critical Infrastructure
Position Location: Remote – Work Virtually from Anywhere in the United States. Must be located near a major airport.
JOB SUMMARY
The Delivery Manager – Critical Infrastructure provides leadership and oversight for a portfolio of large-scale, multi-site automation and integration programs supporting hyperscale and colocation data-center campuses. This role leads a team of Project Managers, ensuring consistent delivery across programs ranging from 20 MW to 200 MW+, covering BAS, PLC/SCADA, HVAC, electrical, and IT/OT networks from design through integrated systems testing and owner turnover.
The Delivery Manager – Critical Infrastructure will be accountable for the overall performance of assigned projects, ensuring operational excellence, budget adherence, schedule achievement, and client satisfaction. Acting as the primary liaison between senior stakeholders and delivery teams, this role drives consistent processes, mitigates risks, and ensures Smart Tech Contracting maintains its position as a trusted leader in mission-critical delivery.
The Delivery Manager – Critical Infrastructure will be self-directed on day-to-day work and receive high level instruction on new projects, tasks or assignments. Will execute and lead teams and projects, tasks or assignments of complex scope. May coordinate activities of other personnel.
This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Portfolio & Program Leadership (45%)
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers delivering multiple concurrent hyperscale and mission-critical infrastructure projects, ensuring operational excellence and high-performance team culture.
- Partner with PMO leadership to drive governance, enforce process compliance, and uphold enterprise project management standards.
- Standardize delivery frameworks across the portfolio to ensure consistent alignment with client requirements, safety protocols, quality expectations, and schedule milestones.
- Oversee portfolio health by monitoring project status, budgets, and risk profiles; proactively intervene to resolve performance gaps and safeguard delivery objectives.
- Drive construction innovation by developing optimized build sequences—including workface planning, modular pod integration, and skid assemblies—to accelerate speed-to-market targets.
Financial & Risk Management (25%)
- Own portfolio-level budgets, cash-flow forecasts, contingency planning, and profitability targets.
- Review and approve change of orders, major purchases, and subcontractor contracts.
- Identify portfolio-level risks (supply chain, labor availability, permitting) and implement mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement (20%)
- Serve as primary escalation point for clients, general contractors, commissioning agents, and OEM partners.
- Chair regular portfolio review meetings with internal leadership and external stakeholders to ensure delivery alignment.
- Maintain strong relationships with hyperscale owner teams to anticipate future opportunities and foster repeat business.
Process Improvement & Innovation (10%)
- Champion use of BIM 360/Procore, and AI-driven analytics to improve schedule certainty, cost predictability, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to and maintain the company’s best practice libraries for hyperscale delivery.
Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ADVANCED LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING)
- Technical knowledge in BAS, PLC, and SCADA platform implementation (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Ignition, AVEVA, Niagara 4) and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC-UA, Fieldbus, Profibus).
- Knowledge with critical facility standards: Uptime Institute Tier III/IV, NFPA 70E, IEEE 3004, and hyperscale owner design guides.
- Skilled leadership in schedule-compressed, high-pressure delivery environments.
- Skilled in Primavera P6 or MS Project, Procore, BIM 360, and cost-management platforms.
- Skilled in establishing delivery frameworks, enforcing PMO standards, and driving accountability across teams.
- Skilled in managing P&L responsibilities, reviewing change orders, and approving vendor/subcontractor agreements.
- Skilled in applying industry standards (Uptime Institute, NFPA, IEEE) to ensure compliance, reliability, and performance.
- Skilled in identifying portfolio-level risks related to supply chain, labor, permitting, and scheduling.
- Skilled in workforce planning, performance management, and succession readiness.
- Skilled in leading portfolio review meetings, resolving escalations, and aligning delivery with client objectives.
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
- Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Ability to lead, coordinate, and monitor multiple concurrent projects within a complex portfolio
- Ability to optimize financial performance while maintaining client satisfaction and quality standards
- Ability to deliver large-scale infrastructure programs from design through integrated systems testing and turnover.
- Ability to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to safeguard delivery performance.

- Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact

- Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as required
- Ability to maintain the jobsite and keep it organize

TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Up to 50% travel to other jobsite locations, this may include travel to any of the 50 US states

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent military/industry experience accepted
- 8+ years delivering mission-critical automation or controls projects, with at least 4 years managing multiple Project Managers or large delivery teams.
