About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Developer Relations Engineer to lead technical enablement for SmartSuite’s customers and partners.

This is a DevRel-led role focused on helping users successfully build, scale, and operationalize workflows on the SmartSuite platform. You will act as a bridge between customers, partners, product, and engineering—ensuring that real-world usage informs product innovation while enabling customers to achieve meaningful outcomes.

In addition, you will serve as a technical advisor for a select group of strategic enterprise accounts and act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.

What You'll Own


1. Developer Relations & Platform Enablement (Core Focus)

  • Act as a technical advocate for SmartSuite users and partners
  • Enable customers to design and implement advanced workflows, automations, and data models
  • Guide customers and partners in building scalable solutions on the SmartSuite platform
  • Identify repeatable patterns and turn them into reusable assets and best practices
  • Build relationships with power users, technical stakeholders, and partner teams


2. API & Integration Enablement

  • Work directly with customers and partners to design and implement integrations using the SmartSuite API
  • Provide guidance on API usage, authentication, data models, and best practices
  • Help partners build scalable solutions and integrations on top of SmartSuite
  • Create technical documentation, examples, and reference materials to support API adoption

3. Strategic Accounts (Technical Account Management)

  • Act as a Technical Advisor for a select group of enterprise customers
  • Support onboarding, implementation, and expansion initiatives
  • Help customers design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
  • Identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities within customer environments
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to support long-term account growth


4. Identity & Enterprise Configuration

  • Lead and support SSO (Single Sign-On) and SCIM implementations for enterprise customers
  • Partner with customer IT and security teams to ensure proper configuration and compliance
  • Troubleshoot authentication, provisioning, and access-related issues
  • Develop best practices and documentation for identity and access management


5. Technical Content & Enablement (Scale)

  • Own and manage SmartSuite’s technical content strategy, including:
    Help center documentation
    Implementation guides
    Solution blueprints
    Demo environments and assets
    Video tutorials and walkthroughs
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • Continuously improve content based on customer needs and support trends


6. Product & Engineering Collaboration

  • Serve as the voice of the customer to Product and Engineering teams
  • Identify product gaps, usability issues, and enhancement opportunities
  • Help define requirements for new features and improvements
  • Contribute to internal tools that improve support, onboarding, and delivery
  • Support beta programs and new feature rollouts


7. Technical Support (Escalation Focus)

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues across workflows, automations, integrations, and data architecture
  • Partner with the Support team to resolve advanced customer challenges
  • Improve support processes, tooling, and documentation to enhance efficiency and customer experience

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong technical background in SaaS platforms, APIs, integrations, or workflow systems
  • Experience with:
    • APIs and integration design
    • SSO (SAML, OAuth) and SCIM provisioning
    • Troubleshooting complex technical environments
  • Background in one or more of the following:
    • Developer Relations
    • Solutions Engineering / Sales Engineering
    • Technical Account Management
    • Technical Support Engineering
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear documentation and content
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Customer-first mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teamsty
