About the role

We’re looking for someone to be the face of our showroom — the first impression every customer gets when they walk through our doors.

This isn’t a typical retail job. Our customers aren’t browsing. They’re enthusiasts. They’re buying a piece they’ll cook on for the next thirty years and eventually hand down to someone they love. They want to talk about it. They have questions. They want to be in the right hands.

That’s where you come in. You’ll greet and assist customers, educate them about our products and brand story, facilitate transactions, help maintain our showroom environment, and collaborate with our ecommerce, marketing, and sales teams as needed. You’ll also have the opportunity to help shape what a world-class Smithey retail experience looks like as we continue to grow.

What you'll Do

  • Deliver a consistently excellent customer experience from arrival to departure — warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely memorable
  • Greet, assist, and educate customers about Smithey’s cookware, brand story, and full product lineup
  • Facilitate transactions and assist with orders, returns, and exchanges on Shopify POS
  • Monitor showroom inventory and coordinate restocking from the warehouse
  • Keep the showroom in exceptional shape — cleaning, organizing, and light outdoor upkeep (plant watering, leaf blowing)
  • Travel to 3–4 in-person events and shows annually, including occasional weekends
  • Communicate and collaborate with the broader team via Microsoft Teams and email


What We’re Looking For

• Genuine enthusiasm for people and for the Smithey brand

• Experience in customer-facing roles — luxury or high-end retail a strong plus

• Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

• Strong organizational instincts and meticulous attention to detail

• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems (Shopify experience a plus)

• Self-starter who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do

• Flexibility to work weekends as needed — especially during holiday season (October–December)

A Note on Weekends

Weekend availability is required for this role. Weekend shifts are not every week, but this position requires flexibility for showroom coverage, special events, and our busy holiday season. Scheduling needs are communicated as far in advance as possible.


Physical Requirements

This is an active, in-person role. You should be comfortable on your feet for extended periods, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and able to perform light cleaning and outdoor maintenance tasks.
