Our working model 

At Smokeball, we believe there is nothing more powerful than a community of people coming together to work on a product that they, and our clients, love. When it comes to working as a community, we see the value in both coming together and allowing our “Smokeballers” the flexibility that remote work offers. 


All Chicago employees are in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. While our office is open 5 days a week, we allow you to choose what works best for you on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. 

 

Our office is in the heart of the Loop within 10 minutes of the Metra and all “EL” trains. And, we have lots (and lots) of snacks.


The Role


We are seeking a highly motivated Implementation Specialist to join our team. This person will be responsible for ensuring the successful set-up, account configuration and deployment of Smokeball's software solutions for our clients. You will work closely with clients, Onboarding Specialists, and cross-functional teams to configure and implement our software to meet unique business needs. Your role will be pivotal in delivering a seamless transition from sales to post-onboarding teams, ensuring clients realize the full value of our platform.


This is a hybrid role with our office being in Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the account setup, configuration, and data transition functions of the client onboarding journey. 
  • Coordinate with Onboarding Specialists and clients during the implementation phase of the client onboarding journey. 
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements related to account configuration and data migration. 
  • Translate client requirements into actionable system configurations and workflows. 
  • Customize and configure the software to align with client-specific needs where applicable. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and status reports that are shared with our Onboarding Specialists and leadership to ensure that projects are completed on time. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. 
  • Work closely with sales, product, and client teams to ensure alignment and continuity. 
  • Gather client feedback and share insights with the team to enhance the software. 

What You Bring

  • 1+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS environment; ideally working in support, implementation, training or client success. 
  • Strong technical aptitude; advanced Excel skills are mandatory for this role. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships. 
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a technical setting. 
  • Excellent time management, organizational and attention-to-detail skills are a must.
  • Experience with CRM, ERP, or similar enterprise software is a plus!

Your Manager

Brock Stormer: Hi! I'm the Manager of Client Onboarding and I’ve been with Smokeball since August 2023. Smokeball has given me an opportunity to continue to grow my career in Customer Success, which is near and dear to me, and I have also been provided the opportunity with my role to be able to coach and mentor some really great team members! My favorite parts about working here are getting the opportunity to collaborate with so many different people on so many different teams that have a direct impact on the client experience. Outside of work, I love to play golf, hit up as many local breweries as possible to sample all the new releases, as well as dabble in brewing my own beer as well. Most of the time you will see me, my wife, and our Siberian Husky running around Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan on the weekends looking for the next adventure!


The Team

Jonnell Simpson: Hi, I'm Jonnell and I've been with Smokeball since 2017. Prior to Smokeball, I was an Account Manager for a legal tech company, helping law school students and faculty learn to use the research platform. Since joining Smokeball I've had roles on the Training Team as well as the Onboarding Team. I love the onboarding role because I can use my project management and consulting skills to help new clients get a good start with the program and I still get to be involved in training with them, too. It makes my day when I get feedback from clients that they love the program and how it's improved their practice. My favorite thing about Smokeball is the people, and even more specifically, my team. When we have a challenge, everyone is willing to step up to help find solutions. I also like that the product continues to evolve and adds new features, so there's always something new to learn.

The pay range for this role is:

$60,000 - 65,000/year
